Inspired by Harper

It’s hard not to be inspired by someone as amazing as Charley Harper, his style and colour combinations are incredible and I just had to make my very own ‘Harper’ esque bird.  My card had to be CAS as I wanted the bird as the focal point but I know that I will not be able to stop at creating just one of these…

I love the bird and the soft colorwash. Was the bird created using circles?

    1. Thanks for your lovely comment.
The bird was so simple to create, just a pencil outline and then I freehand cut the shapes, but it could just as easily be done with dies if you had them.
      Have a great day!

  10. Great card Therese, lovely background, I really think you nailed it!
In another life I made several small cross stitch designs in his oh-so-timeless style. They are hanging in a group in my hall as I type…I have never seen any other reference to his work until your card popped into view.

    1. I remember seeing it and just loving your card, this is definitely one of my fave birds of his! My husband bought me the most wonderful book of Charley’s illustrated works and I often look to these pictures for inspiration, especially with his choice of colour combos. Thanks so much for the link to your wonderful card,
