Lucky Stars

I have a quick share today, I combined a few fun challenges to create this card and it looks absolutely nothing like the original plan….  it started out as a birthday cake but that’s a long story so I won’t bore you with the details lol.

Anyhoo, I created my own background for the current Build a Background challenge at ABNH, using the colour and star inspiration from Jacquie’s card at Muse and finally Lisa’s Wanna Sketch for the layout (which I flipped)….  phew…

I’m still out to lunch on this one but it was fun to make.  Hope you have a great weekend planned, I’m on 4 days off and hope to get a little crafty.

  1. Lol.. I love how you said it started out as a birthday cake. I think we have all been there, but this owl card is AMAZING. I love how you did the stars and how you layered your elements inspired by wanna sketch. I always LOVE your cards… ALWAYS.

  2. I can see how this might have been a Birthday cake *wink*!

Cakes aside – this is adorable, Therese – love the vellum moon – perfect 🙂

  3. A very effective background, great colours, sweet owl, all good. I really like the vellum and the woodgrain banner as well. It’s so nice when it all comes together so beautifully, and sometimes even better when it’s not the original plan…Di

  4. This is great, Therese. I love your cute little owl and all the elements work great together. I love the vellum for the moon, what a fab idea! x

  6. Your card is adorable! I love the embossing and the woodgrain washi really adds dimension to the card. Thanks for joining us at A Blog Named Hero 🙂

  7. Those are some of the best cards ever, almost like a crafty game of telephone where the end result doesn’t resemble the beginning at all 🙂 LOVE the colours!
