Today I have some of the cutest products and get to do lotsa die cutting to create this fun little scene for Scrapbook Boutique. I filmed as I created so you could see the process.

Wow Therese you really showed us what for. What a brilliant card, all those die cuts, I know I could not do that. There would have to be a section where I would stuff it up. The butterflies on the card are just the cutest.
Now a question, I have coloursoft pencils or colouring but only a small set, I think it was the largest at the time I purchased. I have been thinking of expanding my pencils but wonder if I should try the Prism (I think that was the name of the ones you used). Are they easy to use, nice colours, do you have all the colours? Worth the price? When I say easy to use I have osteoarthritus and found the coloursoft easier to use than Derwents colouring pencils, softer lead I think. Anyway if you have time I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Hi Aileen, my apologies I hadn’t answered this question til now, but I wanted a chance to look into the Coloursoft pencil range first. I’ve not used these and they look wonderful (I do like Derwent products). They are wax based the same as Prismacolor Pencils so I imagine they would work in much the same way. Apparently Prismacolor pencils are slightly softer and I find them very easy to use. They have a great colour range and initially I bought a set of 72, and now just buy individual pencils to top up the pack or add the odd colour here and there. I did consider buying the massive 150 pencil set but decided that if I want a certain colour that I can mix it myself, which works fine as well. I love that I can get such different looks using one product. I can use them on coloured cardstock because they are kinda opaque, I can blend them together directly, I can also blend them with gamsol or I can use them over my Copics to add depth and texture or just to get the exact colour that I want. My only complaint about these pencils is that because they are sooo soft sometimes I get one where the lead continually breaks and I’ve even had a couple with cracked casings. I did try the Faber-Castell Polychromos and found they didn’t blend quite so well, but I was new to colouring and not sure what I was doing at the time, but was recently thinking I should give them a try again, sounds like I need to try the Coloursoft instead! I would maybe suggest buying just a few of the Prismacolor Pencils to see what you think of them before you commit. Hope you are having a great week, we’ve still got visitors and I’m not finding much crafty time at the moment but it’s been fun to hang with them. Hugs Therese x

I enjoyed watching that video so much!! I was worried you were going to be fiddling with lots of tiny pieces of grass, so was amazed to see how you did that. And the way you cut out the panel so you could make an inlaid white frame…..brilliant idea!! Such a sweet card and love those bears so much. So many things to learn from you, can’t wait for the next video!
