Quick & Easy Penny Black Birthday Cat!

Today I have a quick and easy card to share using some fab new stamps from Penny Black.  I always adore these sweet cats and this time I coloured him with some Copics (for some reason I often tend to use Inktense pencils).

After shuffling around heaps of coloured design paper for the sentiment window I settled on black, not my original plan but it definitely makes for a bold statement……………..    do your cards kind of ‘evolve’ too?.

Love it

  2. Its okay I found it the second time I went and looked at supplies. So no worries wont be breaking in any time soon. Fabulous group of sentiments.

  3. SO darling! I really love all your cards, & also am a Penny Black fan. This stamp set is very versatile, as it can work for a variety of animal lovers, ages, & occasions. Your videos are so enjoyable – I always learn something & you usually make me laugh, too! Thank you!

  4. Hi Therese, most of my projects ‘evolve’. I never really start out with a clear idea of how things will go. I have this stamp set, mainly thanks to your work, those cats really make me smile.

  5. Therese, I love, love this cute little kitties, they look like they are always having so much fun.

  6. Very cute! That’s one cute kitty, and I love his sweet balloons! The shadow you’ve given him is something I often forget, but you do it so well! And I do like the black sentiment panel, too. Makes those balloons pop (no pun intended….) : )

  7. Love it! Great sentiment so true. Reminds me of a discussion I was having the other day with some older ladies about the alternative to having a birthday.
Do my cards evolve? Would have to say yes – they rarely turn out how I pictured them in my head so there must be some form of evolution right?

  8. Oh my, that is a funny sentiment and I love the image! My cards almost never go as planned, I really like the black for the sentiment, it is very bold.

  9. I just LOVE cats so much!! I love this card so much, its cute, adorable and the witty sentiment just adds a bit of fun too. Your colouring is perfect !! Hugs

  10. Fantastic design! That bold black is a great choice. Yes, designs usually evolve, and I love patterned paper, but is does distract from the focus many times.

  11. Love your card, Therese. The black card stock used in the window was a great choice. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Such a cute card, Therese! I love how you fussy cut the cat and the effect of the white sentiment on black is so striking! My cards tend to evolve too…as long as I take my time while creating them. Nothing is worse than seeing it on screen and thinking ‘woulda, shoulda, coulda’…know what I mean? Thanks for making me smile with this charming birthday card!

  13. Really loving all your cards. This one is really clean and simple but quite dramatic.
You’re always inspiring. Love the way you add colour to your cards.
    Cheers
    Lisa

  14. That cat’s adorable, Therese … love how you’ve cut round him and the balloons so they just peek into that fabulous bold sentiment panel! Evolving cards … definitely … even revolving sometimes (tee hee)! Hugs, Anita 🙂
