Video : Going Retro with MFT for Scrapbook Boutique!

I’ve been wanting to use this background technique again for a while now and decided that today was the day as I have a post up at Scrapbook Boutique Blog!  I thought it would be fun to ‘Retro’ these fun owls from MFT and add a sweet combo of colours from Altenew.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

  1. Really cute card, Therese! I love the retro color palette and how you mixed the owls for your fun design! I didn’t know Versafine had refills for their inks…thanks for the tutorial on using them…you’re the BEST!!!

  2. Another great video! I’d love to join the NDA club!!! (And no, you aren’t the only one to stamp without removing the mask).

  3. Oh yes I have. Finished a card except for that masked sentiment, then forgotten to take my mask off, lol!! What a fun card, Therese! Love the look of those owls, (my favorite is in the green circles) on their respective colors. This is just so fun! And thanks for the video, too!! Bev

  4. Love the card with the fifties look (you are too young to remember the Jetsons, if they were even shown in Australia). And YES – I’m in the club! I just got 12 bottles of the Nuvo drops – you are partly to blame. I’m now going back to cards I’ve made but not yet sent and adding dots everywhere! Someone stop me…

  5. I absolutely LOVE your design and the owls you chose. I have the set on my wishlist, so now I might have to move it to my shopping cart. And, for the record, I have forgotten to take my mask off a selectively stamp sentiment MANY times, so you are not alone! Thanks for sharing.

  6. How clever!…love the retro ‘bubbles’…I have that set and would never have thought of using them as background dots! I have another one for you…in the dead of night, have you ever ‘Versamark’ed your stamp and then poured your embossing powder over the STAMP???? Ugh! 🙂

  7. Great fun card Therese. So good to find such a fun and different way to use the Scribble Stamp Set. I must admit I’ve been using lots of Nuvo drops too! Thanks for sharing.

  8. Well Therese, you are the reason I’m addicted to the Nuvo Drops, I’ve never seen them before until you used them when you were our Guest Designer over at The Flower Challenge, so I guess I’m one of the newbies on your NDA, count me in!!!
Now, your little Owl card is the sweetest, love those totally retro Owls and the beautiful colored bubbles behind them, my 13 year old granddaughter would love this card, she loves this beautiful birds.
Thank you for sharing your card and your video.
    Big Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.
PS. Oh yes, I’ve done the “thing” with the masked stamp a few times, ughhh!!

  9. Great card! I have definitely forgotten to remove a mask when stamping something. Very annoying! I’m sorry to say that I cannot join your Nuvo drops club as I don’t own any. 🙁 Gasp! I know, right?! I don’t think my local scrapbook store carries them yet but once they do…I will be all over that! For now I’ll just keep using my stash of enamel dots!

  10. Love this! I made a similar card with outline leaves and blobs of color a while ago. Superfast and superfun to do! And ofcourse I have to join your NDA club ha ha I am addicted as well! (Used the Nuvo mousse today, also yummie!)

  11. Such a cute card and using that particular stamp for the background was genius! Love those colours you used, too! And yes, I think I’d better join NDA – after watching your video where you use them with release paper, I found myself buying quite a few and now I’ve just bought some of the embellishment mousse to play with.

  12. Love it Theres and your ALWAYS wonderful videos. Must say though I did have a sharp intake of breath when I saw the ND going straight to the card front – talk about BRAVE! LOL.
    Thank you, Janet

  13. Had to tell you that I loved this card so much, that when I saw it was on sale at Butterfly Reflections, Inc., I had to buy it right away! Still love this card tons!! : )

  14. Funky, cool and deliciously retro, Therese … and so fun … love it! Yes to not removing a mask before stamping a sentiment (quelle catastrophe!) … and no (dare I say it) … I don’t own a single Nuvo drop!! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  15. Now this is my kinda’ card 😉 Interesting to see that you did you colour blocks first… makes more sense really but I’ve never tried it!

  16. In my mind, Therese, the only thing better than a card with owls on it is a retro card with owls on it. I love this so much I may have to buy those owls.

  17. oh I just love everything about this Therese. I love the colors you chose. Swoon. What a smart way to use that solid stamp from the flower set. Oh Just love this. You always inspire me.
