I adore this fab sentiment set from Penny Black but sometimes I can really struggle to make the ‘larger’ style sentiments work on a clean & simple design. So today I thought I would share with you a fun way to use them, and have filmed the process so you can watch.

The focus is really the sentiment so I decided to keep the colouring very simple and subtle.

Oh my Therese, this is one of the most endearing, sweet and totally tender images I’ve ever seen, love it, it got me a bit teary eyed just to think of elderly couples still so very much in love.
What a fabulous way to showcase the sentiment, I have a few of this bold sentiments and I usually stamp them inside my cards, I’ve never thought of doing it in the front but your idea is marvelous, and even if it’s stamped in black, still doesn’t take anything away from this simply adorable couple.

This card almost made me cry, Therese, because it reminds me of my Mom and Dad, although my Mom was a much smaller woman. They kissed every morning, each time they left each other and before they went to bed at night.

I absolutely love this technique, I’m thinking this would work so well with lots of Art Impressions stamps too! Love the soft colouring… it almost looks like you’ve layered vellum over the image to make the colour subtle… thanks for sharing 🙂

I found your blog through Olga’s, which I follow faithfully. I love watching you color. I’m a huge Copics fan…they work best for someone like myself who is not a natural artist…easy to fix mistakes. Love this technique and will look through my stamps to see what I have that will give similar results. I do have many Penny Black stamps and dies…love her products.
