Video : Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop & Giveaway!

I am so excited to be here as part of Altenew’s first Crafty Friends Blog Hop, and this is huge!  We are already on our second day of hopping and you should have arrived here from the amazing land of Sandy Allnock!

And if you have a minute….

My little crafty story, how I got ‘on-the-line’…  As is what happens, I sat on the papercraft blog sidelines for ages (years, actually), I watched and was inspired but was too nervous to even comment (computers and me were never very happy together, but the more I watched, the more I learned).  What was the tipping point?   I went to a coffee meet and greet with the gorgeous Dawn McVey who was visiting Australia at the time and I met my most amazing crafty friend Linda.  I remember saying to her, ‘Do you think I should start a blog?’…   her answer was ‘Yes’ and when I asked ‘Do you think I should send some cards into the magazine?’….  her answer was ‘Of course, Yes!’.  All this and she had no idea what my card making style or abilities were at the time lol.  What an amazing and supportive community we live in and my advice to you if you are even thinking about it, why not just do it, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, my papercraft world opened up when I went ‘on-the-line’ and I have my incredible papercrafty friend Linda (who now has her own Youtube channel too, you go GF!) to thank for that!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This gorgeous Build-A-Flower: Anemone has not seen enough love from me so along with the assistance of the MISTI I pumped out a few flowers, chopped them out with the coordinating dies (Yay! included with the stamps) and popped them on some fab Moonrock cardstock.

Altenew - BAF - Anemone - Halftone Circles - Lostinpaper (card video) 1 copy

The Halftone Circles stamp set provided the perfect sentiment for this hop and I just adore the tone on tone look that the Crystal Clear Embossing Powder gives on the Dark Gray cardstock.  Seriously what’s not to love! Altenew - BAF - Anemone - Halftone Circles - Lostinpaper (card video) 1 copy

I did film the process today,
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

  1. The colors you picked for the flowers are perfect! Maybe Altenew should have you doing the color combos! I love your crafty stories, I do think the crafty bloggers are the most supportive! I love your videos and your great accent 🙂 I went out on a limb today and posted a video. It’s not very good, but I think it accomplishes my goal of sharing a technique. Have a good day!

  2. You have such a great style for your cards! And, I love listening to you accent;) this hop is rocking the giveaways!

  10. Here I sit on the sidelines just like you. I too am not computer savvy! I am not even sure how to post a picture. I am sure it cannot be that hard but am thankful to those of you who do and inspire me daily. For that I am thankful.

  51. Beautiful card. Thanks for including the video. Since I don’t have any crafty friends I really rely on the wonderful videos everyone shares.

  52. Your Anemones are beautiful. I love the color combination. I really love all the build-flower stamp sets.

  53. Beautiful blooms, Therese … love that unexpected blue-grey in the leaves … it’s gorgeous with the soft colours in the flowers! Enjoyed your crafty story … yep, crafty friends are the best … and yes, we all get each other! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  54. I love these layering stamps. Still a little nervous about trying them. I should jump right in after watching how easy you make it look!

  60. These flowers are beautiful and your cards are awesome – I love this set and hope to buy it.

  61. I read your story and how you took the leap and got started… how do you get started? I am right there. I have been watching for years and think I need to start filming and start a blog BUT what do I need – where do I start?? (I need a video for that lol)

  62. Beautiful card! I love the colors, bold and graphic design and the sentiment hanging off the edge – fabulous!

  63. Your card is beautiful! Great tutorial video with all the steps included. I like the dark great instead of black. What a nice contrast and cutting the edges off to make the large images was a good idea. I know I try to crowd everything all on the top of the card and sometimes a little ‘editing’ is just what is needed. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely work!

  64. The color combo you selected are just beautiful. Thanks for the technique video, liked your tip on the seal & press, never thought of that to assist in arranging die cuts on a card.

  65. A beautiful card for sure! I have the pansy and the rose but I see I really need to purchase this one also. Love the colors they are among my favorites. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. Blessings

  66. Great card. I wouldn’t have thought to use a blue for my leaves but it really works. Makes me think of other colours. Thanks for sharing

  67. Another gorgeous card.
I agree crafty bloggers are the most supportive. I was on the side for a while too (after I found SBB & ABS) and wouldn’t have started and stayed blogging if I hadn’t had the support – Thank you 🙂

  68. I love this card! The colors you used are the anemones are just stunning! Die-cutting the flowers and layering really made the card pop!

  69. Great card, lovely colours especially the leaves. I enjoyed your voice over in the video verry much. Love it when people talk in there video’s if they are talking to me and if they made a mistake (or don’t know the name of something at that time) they don’t cut it out.

  70. Beautiful card. I have some crafty friends that would love it. Love your work Therese. Thanks for all the inspiration.

  71. Your story is so inspiring! I have a blog but I haven’t post anything in a looong time, I’m so glad you follow Linda’s advice because your work is fabulous! TFS
