Video : Get to know the Ellen Hutson Design Team Blog Hop!

One of my favourite tricks is to use the MISTI tool to stamp out multiple card layers and I have a fun technique to share with you today for this ‘Get to Know’ the Ellen Hutson Team blog hop.

Have you heard the news?  I am thrilled to be part of the Ellen Hutson team and today we are hopping along so you can find out just a little more about each of us.  You should have arrived here from SHARON’s wonderful blog.

If you know me, then you already know that I love me a clean and simple design, I adore anything bright, I love to mix colour combos…   and then there are the images, I’m addicted (wink)!

Today’s card uses the fabulous S’Whale Stamp Set...

and some easy fancy stamping with the MISTI using the Abstract Paint Strokes Stamp Set.  I decided to film the process.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.

Now, onto me?

  • Coffee or tea?  – Definitely tea, I don’t think I’ve ever had a coffee in my life (I’m a bit weird that way) but tea is my lifeline.
  • How did you come up with your blog name? – Well, that’s the ‘Sci-Fi’ side of me, instead of Lostinspace, I thought Lostinpaper was quirky and so true (you should see my crafty space sometimes..  or at lease what is 2 cm outside the camera screen).
  • Tell us something about yourself – My usual mode of transport is a Scooter, and I have to say the most interesting time to be riding one is during hail, it gets a little noisy lol.

It’s Time to Hop!

I’m the last stop along the hop and I hope you have had a blast, but just in case you missed anything you can start at the beginning right HERE.
I know I’ve had fun meeting you, thanks so much for stopping by!  Hugs,

  1. Loved your video! Love the card and wonderful idea for the Misti. Scooter in the hail!…way too exciting for me.

  2. Therese, you must own that fabulous Penny Black girl on a scooter!
You have a way with color that I so admire, my friend … couldn’t miss one post, and it is such an honor to be your teamie…
    =] xx

  3. I love the graphic feel of this project. So perfectly clean and simple. I’m just too excited to be on this fabulous team with you!

  4. That was a fun blog with so many beautiful cards and ideas. Thanks for being involved in so many of them! Such an inspiration!

  5. This card is so a,axing .. love the design.. and about the scooter for me it’s means lots of fun and not trapping in the rush hours.. congratulations for being part of Ellen Huston DT . I love all your new unique ideas..

  6. Congrats on being on the EH design team, Therese! You are one of my favorite card makers and I look forward to seeing your designs in the future.

  7. Congrats on your new DT spot, Therese!! It’s always a a treat to see what you create! You are SO talented, my friend! Didn’t know that you ride a scooter! 🙂

  8. Fabulous card, Therese! And, it was fun getting to know a little about you. As for not drinking coffee…I don’t, neither does my DH and neither do most of our friends..go figure.

  9. Wishing you congratulations on your wonderful news being on Ellen Hudson DT , it’s certainly well deserved. Awesome design and I love you colours too. X

  10. Congrats on being part of the EH Design Team, Therese! I really LOVE this fun card! You did an amazing job combining stamp sets for your design, and I love that you added a Wobble at the end…so clever!
It was also fun getting to know you better…I think it’s so cool that you ride a Scooter…can’t imagine the racket it makes driving through hail 🙂

  11. Oh my goodness! I just love this design and those colors! Yum!
And I wanted to let you know that I always enjoy hearing the birds in your videos! Sounds like a tropical paradise! Sigh!

  12. Such a cute card, amazing colours got to love the whale stamp set going to put on my wish list. Thank you so much for sharing and such a wonderful blog hop.

  13. Congrats on your new DT position! You must know I love your creations. 🙂
Never drank coffee! I drink both tea and coffee and am actually enjoying my second long black right now 🙂 It is one of those Sunday mornings (early morning pick up for Ms 13 from a sleep over and a late messy night with Ms 22!). It must not just be noisy but also scary/dangerous riding in hail. I can so relate to the craft chaos – there is a reason I have never posted a pic of my craft space it is never tidy. Enjoy your Sunday.

  14. Cool video. Love the action wobbler (I some must use them!). I use my stamp a ma jig plastic like you use the acetate. A little question I noticed in this video and another I watched you don’t use magnets. I did notice you have the cs in the corner but do you ever feel you need the security of the magnets?

    1. Hi Vicki, I do use the magnets but not as often anymore… I find they can be more trouble than they are worth and if I put the paper into the corner the same way each time I am not finding any problems with lining the stamps up. I love my MISTI and find that it rarely misstamps… and if it does it’s usually because of user error lol. We just got home from camping at the beach and I’ve started on the washing (before the storm comes this afternoon), only slightly sunburnt, in one spot where I forgot the sunscreen arrrgh, you’d think I’d learn. Anyhow, gotta go and do some shopping for the week, the cupboards are empty and I have to work tomorrow. Hugs Therese

  15. Congrats, Therese. Love the card. You’re going to turn me into a CAS girl yet, or at least a semi one.
How far do you have to ride your scooter to work? I don’t think I’d want to be on a scooter when it’s hailing. LOL

  16. What a fun card and this was certainly a fun blog hop! Congrats on being a DT member for Ellen! I always love seeing what you create and this means there will be even more! 🙂

  17. Love the colours you have chosen for this watery card – a great design and fun card! Congrats again!

  18. What a fabulous card, Therese! I totally love your use of the S’Whale stamp set and the Abstract Paint Strokes together. So awesome! And the colors are just dreamy. I’m so excited to be designing with you on the EH Team this year. I know we’re going to have the best time ever. ♥

  19. Therese, I simply adore your clean and simple card with that big punch of color being carried over from the background to the whale. How creative and clever. I am so happy to be working with you on the Ellen Hutson team. We have such a talented group of designers and it is so fun to see all the different paper crafting styles.

  20. Therese, you will be a great addition to the Ellen team. They are lucky to have you!
Your card is wonderful as always.

  21. Lovely clean and simple design, great tips in the video. And I love it that your blog name is from Lost in Space – I always wondered! Hugs!!!

  22. Adorable whale card, Therese — I adore your graphic use of color! I’m excited to get to know you better on the team!

  23. Love your easy fancy stamping of those spots of color–that whale looks so happy!
And congrats on your ambassadorship with EHutson! So happy for you!

  24. Hi Therese! Ack, I’m so excited to finally be on a design team together!!! Yay! You always have such impeccable taste in design, and love how you lined the whale up with your background (and made him wobble). Wonderful card, and honestly I couldn’t be more excited. Here’s to an amazing year together!

  25. Love this card! I was thrilled to see you will be on the team – you have wonderful ideas.

  26. Many congratulations on becoming one of Ellen’s Design Ambassadors, Therese … she is so lucky to have you! Enjoyed your little Q&A session … and love your fabulous breaching whale! The cool colours are gorgeous … and I adore the funky style! That action wobbler is the icing on the cake … or should I say the barnacle on the whale!! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  27. Very pretty clean & simple card. But, I didn’t understand why you stamped the images on both your actual card base as well as a seperate piece of cardstock.

    1. Hi Karen,
I stamped the images on two pieces of cardstock so that when I stamped out and cut out the whale he would have exactly the same pattern as the cardstock behind him, kinda like camouflage. I have another video coming up soon with a similar technique. Thanks for your lovely comments, Have a great weekend, Therese

  28. A huge congratulations Therese on your latest DT appointment. That is awesome! You keep on going from strength to strength my friend. I look forward to more of your wonderful cards such as this one. Action wobble cards are the best!

  29. Love this design so much!!! Thrilled to work with you on the EH Ambassadors Team–I’m a long-time fan of your designs! P.S. I wanna see a pic of you on your scooter, chica! 😉
