Video : Altenew November 2018 Stencil / Ink Spray Release Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Hey, are you hopping?  And are you having fun?  I certainly am, it’s time for an Altenew Stencil and Ink Spray release and you should have arrived here from KRISTINA’s fabulous Blog!

I have three cards and a video to share with you today starting with an ombre blended background and gee these new ‘Green Valley’ Altenew inks blended so well with this stencil and it’s not my technique, because as you know blending isn’t one of my strengths lol.

Altenew - Feathered Leaves - Birds of a Feather - Therese Calvird (card) 1

I used the Feathered Stencil and I must have been on a bird kick as I stamped out one of the Birds of a Feather nestling in some Wild Ferns.

I did a simple Mountain Mist Metallic Spray with the Wavy Grid Stencil for the background and seriously, you can see the metallic shimmer IRL.

Altenew - Wavy Grid - Inked Rose - Therese Calvird (card) 1

I added a Inked Rose coloured with Altenew Artist Markers and a simple sentiment from the Thinking of You Stamp Set.

My final design has a video and I share with you yet another embossing technique and the stencil I used this time is called Sunburst.

Altenew - Sunburst - Charmed - Therese Calvird (card video) 1

I also thought it would be fun to do some watercolouring, but I didn’t use the Altenew palette or the Waterbrush Markers…  can you guess what I used???

  1. Gorgeous as usual. Wish all the delicious qualities of the ink sprays translated better in the videos. But I have every confidence that they are as gorgeous as you say they are.

  2. Therere’s, adding the third color of orange gave it such vivid color. I love your bird card! Thank you for sharing💕

  3. You made me giggle with this one.
You said, You can’t really see the embossing well, because it’s a clean and simple card.” You then proceeded to splatter black ink all over it.

    Sorry, it made me laugh!
    Nice card tho. 😉

  4. Love your beautiful creation! What a great way to use the stencils and the sprays. Will definitely try this technique!

  5. I like that you used the new inks to color the flower on the last card. Looks awesome! I bet IRL it looks even better. They all look great.

  6. Beautiful card, Therese! Your videos always makes me smile. Love your sense of humor…
Thanks so much for sharing your talent.

  7. True confession time? I’m a hoarder too. But don’t tell anyone as I’m still in denial about it!!!!!! I am starting to push myself a bit to use what I have instead of holding on to what I have. It’s a hard habit to break. Is there a 12 Step program for a hoarding problem????!!!!!! Anyway, I often times get stuck on how to use the stencils I have. I don’t understand the block, but am well aware it’s there. So, I appreciate the reminder that using them to dry emboss is another possibility. Thanks, Therese!!

  8. The Feathered Stencil gives such a great organic background. I forget that stencils are also little embossers. Thanks for the reminder.

  9. Your last card is my favorite! That “Charmed” stamp set has been on my wish list for so long! And I love the subtle use of the stencil underneath!

  10. I can’t decide if I love that beautiful bird or the purple flower the most. These cards are stunning!!!!

  11. Beautiful cards, love the dry embossed technique too! Thanks for the great reminder to get more out of those stencils. The feather stencil looks sooooo pretty with the sweet bird and I’m into to birds these days (in spring it may change to butterflies, lol).

  12. Awesome technique embossing with stencils, I must try that soon.
Love your water colored bouquet Therese, beautiful combination of pretty shades.
Thank you for the amazing video and inspiration and for the chance to win.
    Hugs.
    Maria Rodriguez.

  13. I loved the way you used the Sunburst stencil to make the card’s background. I love those new spray colors and how you used them to color the flowers.

  14. Wow! Just beautiful cards as usual! 💛✨I just love your colors. (Greens and blues on your bird, aqua and lavender, and then happy oranges!) Altenew’s stencils are amazing and this new batch is no exception. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas and inspiration! 💫🌸🍀

  15. Therese, You are a wonder! This card is excellent! Your video is excellent as well! Thanks for this demo and your ability to make simple, easily understood directions!

  16. These are beautiful. My favorite is the one with the charmed stamp set. I love that set. I like the idea of using the stencils for embossing ,because my storage for embossing folders is full and I can use my stencils and won’t have to buy more folders (so she said…LOL!)! I can buy more stencils. That storage isn’t full yet! 🙂

  17. Gosh, Therese … that bird in the tropical forest is gorgeous … and what a beautiful colour combo on the rose card! Love the final floral cluster against the subtle embossing … that Charmed set is in my basket at this very moment, so I’m delighted to see you colouring it and making it look so stunning! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  18. Thanks to you for reminding me about using stencils for background! I have beautiful stencils that only have been pulled out to use with mousse or paste but this will launch me into some Christmas background ideas! Thanks to your beautiful card your shared here!

  19. I always love the look of embossing with a stencil but never remember to do it. Thanks for reminding me.

  23. Love all the cards that you made. I love to watch you color in real time, you seem so relaxed and enjoying the process.

  24. Well very pretty indeed. I had a laugh as I thought I was the only nutcase who took out paper admired it and put it away again with out cutting it out. I do the same with quilting material… it cheers you up and then you can put it all away again for next time you need a pick me up.
