Video : Altenew Marker / Embellishment Release Blog Hop & Giveaway!

I have been holding my breath waiting for this particular Altenew release…   and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from TAEEUN’s amazing Blog!

Can you see, I’m in heaven, yes the Artist Markers Set E has been released and it has ALL my absolute favourite colours in it, who needs the other sets when you have this one (wink).  Oranges, Lime greens and of course the Greys!

Today I have tried a ‘Graphic’ colouring technique that my fab friend Ardyth shared in a video HERE.  And look, no shading!

Altenew - Artist Markers E - BAF Poppy - Therese Calvird (card video) 1 copy

I decided to use the Build-A-Flower: Poppy Stamp Set and added some leaves from Pretty Pansies.

Altenew - Artist Markers E - BAF Poppy - Therese Calvird (card video) 1 copy

I even used the markers to add a unique coloured sentiment from the Oriental Orchid Stamp Set.

and as a final touch added some of the new embellishments are released today from the Green Fields Enamel Dots.  You don’t understand just how happy these enamel dots make me, and all in my fave Altenew colours lol.

I decided to video the process and
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  1. What a gorgeous card!
I’ve never seen this style of coloring, but it looks amazing!
    Thanks for sharing this technique.
    Saying hi from the Netherlands!

  2. Great card! I love the colours of these markers. They are the first colours of ink that I bought from Altenew, probably because I saw you use them! And you can never have enough enamel dots, ever!

  3. This simple graphic style of coloring may entice me to go for the alcohol markers. I have resisted so far but this is a beautiful card and I love the vibrancy of the colors. 🙂

  4. I always love the Altenew flowers. These flowers are poppies bit I think they alsof look like tulips when they fully opener. The colours you used are so beautiful.I like them do much better than all the pastels you Often see. very vibrant.

  5. Terese, firstly you are an amazing artist, colorist, designer and I love getting your blog everyday to see your latest posts. I followed you while you were on holiday and through your eyes, was able to see other parts of Australia we missed when we visited in 1992. Thanks for sharing. Your graphic style of coloring is new to me. I know white left on watercolor images gives a fresh sparkle to the picture, and that art principle is evident here. This may be my new favorite style of card. I need to make some card sets for gifts for friends and plan to use the graphic style of coloring. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with me.

  6. Therese, I love this card…thanks for introducing me to Ardyth’s graphic coloring style. This style looks as if it was created with alcohol markers in mind. Visions of graphic colored cards are dancing in my head!

  7. Love the oranges, my favourite colours! Awesome way to colour, i will be trying this.
Altenew have killled my budjet again!
    Thank you for sharing Therese.

  9. This is my kind of colouring! And those poppy images are to die for😃. Another beautiful, achievable card Therese….. I feel a card set coming on…….

  10. While I love the details when we blend the colors for depth, sometime a simple card with simple coloring is so perfect.

  11. I’ve never tried coloring flowers like this. might be fun to try. thanks as always for sharing.

  12. Wow! What a great fairly easy card. I love how bold the colors look. Leaving the white is what makes it special.

  13. What a gorgeous card ! I love the graphic look you have created here and the fun coloring technique you have shared !This is something I look forward to trying as well :)Thank you so much for the inspiration !

  14. Love the card, this colouring technique and your video.
Really enjoy watching you create. How sweet and useful is the mini blossom?
It has a permanent place on my desk.
I’ve only just got the other artist markers so I’m really enjoying watching how everyone’s using them.
    Thanks for today.
    Cheers
    Lisa

  15. i’m not much of an artist so not having to shade the flowers and have them look this great is wonderful for me.
    thanks Gari

  16. Love the way you coloured those flowers Therese and such lovely colours they are. Also how the coloured sentiment isn’t complete with the rough edges. Looks great.

  17. Stunning card. I also love the Altenew Marker E Set. I love orange florals and light greens. Thanks for the inspiration.

  18. This has a very Rifle Paper Co/graphic fabric design feel to it, which I love. Proof that there is room in the world for the super-detailed coloring and the block coloring! Always a treat to see a post from you, so I’ve been extra happy these last couple weeks. Thanks for sharing!

  19. The graphic coloring technique works beautifully on this card. Very LOVELY! I will try this very soon, maybe even today. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us!

  20. I really enjoy your tutorial videos, thanks for sharing yet another beautiful creation. Would this coloring technique work with dye ink markers?

  21. Not heard of graphic colouring before, Therese … though it looks as though even a novice like me could give it a go! Gorgeous, vibrant poppies … so striking! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  22. Great choice of a stamp set to use for your “graphic” coloring. And your coloring is just beautiful. Thanks for the video. I can’t wait to try this. You certainly make it look easy!
