Today I share a video showing how I created 2 Faux Wallpaper Cards, using the beautiful new Wallpaper Art Stamp Set. But before I get to that did you know that this is part of a Hop celebrating the new release from Altenew and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from TAEEUN’s amazing Blog!
Firstly though, did you see that I am heading to Melbourne on Saturday 6th April for an Altenew Workshop, you can find the deets HERE. I can’t wait!
Let’s start with some release inspiration and an Artist Marker coloured flower from the same Wallpaper Art stamp set.
I decided to set this ‘oversized’ flower in a Versatile Vase… very interior designer of me I thought.
Next it’s time for a watercolour take on the Bold Bunch Stamp Set and I used the Watercolor 36 Pan Palette to add my colour today.
As well as some Mask Stencil leaves in the background
Now for the big finale, and my hubby even made a comment about these being ‘nice cards’, I just thought he was going too far then lol. But he doesn’t comment often so I took it.
I used the big flowers and leaves from the Wallpaper Art Stamp Set.
and here I have a die cut sentiment from the Signature Words Die set,
and this card has a sentiment from the Bottleful Of Stamp Set.

Lovely card, dont have a foil machine but feel tempted after watching this video.
This laminater cost $20 and I can justify that… Now, I’m just trying to justify one of the new hot foil machines lol. BUT, you don’t need any machine at all to laminate, you can just use glue / Scor Tape (Be Creative tape) or similar and just adhere the foil to that, just have a practice until you achieve the look you are after. Love the black, white and gold foiling! I love the wallpaper stamp set! I have a thing for old wallpaper and old Rose designs. I also took a picture of your first card to give me inspiration on coloring flowers with my Artitst Markers.
I got a laminator for Christmas so will be investing in the Deco foil pen. I like the look of bits of foil on an image (like you showed), not a Covering the whole image.
Think it is so neat you are having an Altenew workshop in Melbourne with Tasneem. Coming from the state of Virginia in the US would be a bit of a trek! Will look forward to seeing pictures that you share. .

The colour and the designs of the coloured cards are very beautiful but the wallpaper flowers with the black and gold foil are genius! I have used gel gloss medium and acrylic paint to foil without problems in the past.

Hi Rochelle, It was easy to add the gold highlights to the flowers. I used a Decofoil glue pen and some Gold decofoil with my laminator and you can actually see the whole process in the video linked at the blog. Thanks for your lovely visit, Crafty hugs,Therese

If you don’t have the glue pen just use versamark with melted fine embossing powder and pass it through the laminator

Well aren’t these cards the coolest!! I wasn’t aware that a deco foil pen existed or that it’s pretty much the same as liquid glue. I think both of your cards are beautiful. Wasn’t sure when you started out how the foil would look, especially on the leaves. But it’s really nice!! Looks like I will be shopping for a laminator. Those vases have a stencil, I noticed. I was wondering how they would look if you emboss them with the stencil for dimension? Might be a take 2 idea
Keep an eye out as there is a Take 2 on the way using the Vases and the stencils….. not that I would give anything away mind lol. And I believe your idea is such a good one that you may just see it in action (wink).
