Time for a Fun Turnabout Collab & Blog Giveaway + Video!

Welcome to my first Same But Different Collab and today it’s time to Turnabout with Linda!  I have 3 cards to share with you and today I chose the Concord & 9th Marbled Turnabout stamp for all of my designs.

I am so amazed at how easy it is to change up the whole look of a card by adding more or less turns and by what images I chose to add.  Starting with some Gentleman’s Grays.

Lostinpaper - Concord & 9th Turnabout - Marbled 3 Ways (card video) 1

And added a sweet little Avery Elle beaver which I coloured with pencils.

I kept a similar design for all of the cards and I thought it would be fun to add bright splats to my second background.

Lostinpaper - Concord & 9th Turnabout - Marbled 3 Ways (card video) 4

The image is from Waffle Flower Crafts Yippee stamp set and this time I did some simple Copic colouring.

My final card design is a single stamp yet again.

Lostinpaper - Concord & 9th Turnabout - Marbled 3 Ways (card video) 5

But this time I did some simple watercolouring of the beautiful Wispy Begonia and added a sentiment from Big Thanks Words.

  1. Fabulous as always. This is a great turnabout as are many of the others I have and it is fun to see different ways to use it and different color schemes. Adding the splatters of oxide inks is very pretty.

  2. I just bought my first turnabout stamp – dies and the tool kit from Concord & 9th. Am inspired to use them after seeing you gorgeous creations. Great cards and such a variety using the same background stamp.

  3. Wonderful cards and thanks for the inspiration on using the Marble Turnabout stamp. Your videos are a great inspiration and your commentary is very entertaining. 😁

  4. I love your commentary in your videos. I just watched the one with the sepia family… “Sorry, granny!” LOL 🙂 These cards are lovely!

  5. The cards from both of you were great, and I loved hearing the story of your friendship. How nice for you to have someone to collaborate with!

  6. Love that flower!!! Thanks, Therese and thanks to Linda for encouraging you to “go for it” and take the plunge! What a great friend. Also, keeping you all in New Zealand and Australia in my thoughts and prayers. May all madness cease one day … soon. Until then … off to watch Linda’s video.

  7. Therese, it was so fun seeing how you and Linda created cards in your own unique styles while using the same stamp! Sooo much inspiration (I really love the one with the splatter and the WF boy)! I think it’s lovely that she got you into blogging, etc. and that you’ve maintained your friendship all these years. That is one of the best thing that crafting has done for me as well, making friends both in person and virtually. Crafters are the best!

  8. What an amazing turnabout stamp! Two fun cards and the third is a beautiful soft Thank You card. I enjoyed watching you and Linda make such totally different styles of cards with this great stamp.

  9. Thank you for all the great ideas using the Marbled Turnabout stamp! I love all of your cards and now I have to say that this stamp is on my wishlist!

  10. Love the backgrounds, wow are they cool. You nailed all three cards. Great inspiration and great technique. Thank you so much for sharing.

I to have one and she has been a great mentor to me, still have to built up the courage to do a blog, let alone videos, lol. Thank you for sharing this awesome inspiration. I have loved these turn around stamps ever since I saw the first one but alas have not bought any yet. Thanks for another great video, you are an inspiration for me, keep it up 🙂

  21. Therese, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful creativity.
I truly look forward to seeing your new ideas, you have inspired me.
The turnabout looks so new and fresh, I guess I’mgoing to have to give it a go.

  22. Love your cards Therese…and I love that turnabout stamp…thanks for doing the collab with Linda – another card artist for me to drool over hahaha…I’ve been watching your videos now for a good number of years. You make beautiful cards and make it look so easy. You’re fun to watch and listen to…I love all your ‘technical’ terms…More collabs with Linda please….Hugs Ali xx

  23. Those backgrounds are clever. I thought the beaver was cute and the flower was really pretty, but the black background with the bright splotches is a real eye catcher and would make a perfect card for the males.

  24. Really amazing cards Therese … I’d put off buying this turnabout stamp because i thought it was a bit one dimensional – not after seeing your cards though!

  25. Love all of your cards! I haven’t seen the turnabout stamps yet, but just adore what you did! So pretty!!

  26. Beautiful cards Therese…Love that turnabout stamp. Thanks for the collab with Linda – another great card artist for me to drool over…hahaha. I love watching you create and hearing all your ‘technical’ terms and ‘words’…More collabs would be great. Hugs Ali xx

  27. Fabulous cards Therese. I love how you and Linda showed off this turn about stamp and the totally different ideas by both of you. They are all so wonderful and really love the greys with that cute little beaver.

  28. Lovely collaboration! I love the way you used the turnabout with the little critter. I never would have thought to add something whimsical to that background. But I will now!!

  29. Great variety of cards with one background stamp! I popped over to Linda’s blog from your link and I’m glad I did, she has awesome ideas too. Thanks for continuing to share. Hugs.

  30. Great cards Therese! I don’t have any Turnabout stamps – yet. I need to get some as they do look like a lot of fun to use. I’m so glad you started your blog. You are so darn good at this craft. Thanks for the giveaway!!

  31. I love the cards and I love that marble turnabout. It would be fun to add some foiling to it also.

  32. Just love all your cards today…and that splatter marble background is perfect for the happy kid and sentiment! I haven’t yet tried the turnabout stamps yet, but I’m inspired to now! : ). The most wonderful thing about all of this is your friendship with Linda…I love that she encouraged you to take the leap! She is very insightful! ✨💫 And, I for one, am grateful to her for encouraging you! And, to you for having the courage to listen! 💛

  33. Oh I like be your cards and the creative way you used the turnabout. I have many of them but now I need the marble one too!!

  34. I really liked how you used the marble turnabout as wood for the beaver. Some really great inspiration.

  35. a great result with this terrific stamp Therese…it would also be a great stamp for journal makers to make book-end pages with

  36. Beautiful cards as always Therese! I don’t have any turnabout stamps yet and you make them look like fun. Looking forward to meeting you next month in Melbourne!

  37. It’s been so much fun – first of all seeing your fab creations and how differently we used the MT but I’ve also loved reading all the beautiful comments. Thank you for doing your first ‘same but different’ collab with me 🙂

  38. Great cards, really like the first and third cards, but have to say the splashes of ink on the second one really appeals to me. You’ve outdone yourself. Now just to hopefully make you feel, since I gave up paid employment I find I have less time. I have no idea where it all goes but I used to get much more done when I was a full time shift worker. I really would love to know why this is happening. However you may be more disciplined than I?

  39. Hi Therese! Gorgeous cards! Thanks for sharing your video & for the chance to win, especially from my favourite store Auzz Trinklets! 🙂

  40. Love the cards. I haven’t tried this turnaround technique yet. It looks like fun. My favourite card is the begonia, but I also love the Waffle Flower “Yippee”. Really cute. Thank you for sharing your amazing designs.

  41. I love the new turn about stamp and the 3 cards you created. I really enjoy watching your take 3 and same but different videos.

  42. Oh WOW!! Therese, what a fabulous trio of cards, the turnabout stamps are so much fun to play with and you made it even more so with this video. Love the texture you got with the splattering of ink, and I must say that the way you did it is so much easier than tapping the brush, love it.
I’m so glad your friend Linda encouraged you to start your blog Therese, I’m so grateful because you are such a creative and amazing artist and card maker, inspiring us every day.
Thank you and Linda for sharing.
    XO
    Maria.

  43. Wow! Absolutely LOVE these cards! And the three that Linda made as well! To use that background for a soft floral card, a bright happy card, and a cute neutral one – fabulous!

  44. Love your cards. I though I didn’t need that turnabout stamp but, I think I’ve changed my mind. Loved watching you and Linda.

  45. Brilliant combination, love that background stamp, and also all of your designs are simple and so beautifully made! Thanks for your wonderful inspiration!
    Hugs Shaz in Oz.x

  46. Your cards are amazing as usual ! Thank you for the inspiration.

  47. Hi Therese!! Wow, am I late to the party, or what?? Ha! What fun you’ve had with your friend, Linda… btw I’ll need her address to thank her properly for bringing YOU to US!! whatever would I do without you?
Three amazing backgrounds for these two characters, and one very lovely bloom! Can’t wait to see you girls in action… off I go! xx
    =]

  48. So much fun watching you and Linda create with the same Turnabout background stamp. My favorites are your two whimsical cards (the single-stamped black reminds me of a composition notebook and I love the bright splashes of color!) and Linda’s fabulously foiled fox. Thanks for much for the introduction.

  49. Your cards are adorable! The turnabout stamps are so much fun to use. I don’t recall seeing you use these before? I love all the colors you chose for the backgrounds.

  50. Love all these fun cards and how you used the same background stamp to make such different cards! It is great to have crafty friends near you and we are so lucky that she encouraged you to submit cards and make videos. Thank you!!

  51. You always make my day too. I really enjoy watching you create. You’re quite funny too! LOL Beautiful designs as always. I have this turnabout and I totally enjoy it.

  52. I love the simplicity of these cards with the turnabout marbled background! You always inspire, Therese. And now there’s another turnabout stamp going on my wishlist…

  53. These are three VERY different cards using that one stamp. I am highly impressed! I like the one with the splatters the best, I think. TFS!

  54. Fabulous cards, Therese!! I’m quite glad that Linda encouraged you to take that step. I always love seeing what you create.

  55. Hi! I’m new here! I just found you through Instagram a few days ago and I am so excited to start watching your videos!!! Your work is AMAZING!!

  56. I love hearing the birds during your videos, and hearing you! Your voice is very soothing. Those cards are great – clean and simple is my fave! I don’t have any background stamps, but after seeing this, I may have to get one. Also, I see you have the Krystal Katana… Is it worth the extra expense as compared to other jewel pickers?

    1. Hi Lori, Out of all the pick up tools that I have tried the Krystal Katana has become my go-to fave, it also works well to pick up little pieces of cardstock when I am inlay die cutting. I managed to buy mine at a papercraft show and it was half the price so it was much more affordable to me… but it was already on my list to buy and I was going to spend full price lol. My second choice would be the Marvy Jewel picker, that also worked well for a while but I found it difficult to reactivate the ‘stick’ then I did try a glue dot on the end that did work well too (BTW my Marvy Jewel picker is years and years old so I can’t complain). Hope this is helpful, thanks so much for your lovely visit here today, Crafty hugs, Therese

  57. Wonderful cards!
I’m so glad you decided to take the plunge and start doing videos because I do enjoy them so much.
    Thanks for sharing your creativity…

  58. Hi Therese! I have learned so much from you and appreciate all the time and effort you put in to sharing your talent and creativity. I think that turnabout stamp is amazing. They are all great cards and I especially liked the beaver card (and typically I’m not a big critter fan). I thought it looked like an aerial view of a beaver near his river/stream. So cute! I haven’t used pencils w/ gamsol or Copics (yet) and have to ask if there’s one you prefer over the other? I’m hoping that’s not a silly question. I’ve been shopping for alcohol markers, but really liked how smooth looking the image was using the Prismacolor pencils with the gamsol.

    1. Hi Cecilia, both mediums are amazing and I like the different effect that they give. But, if you are new to colouring or not sure, I would suggest the Prismas over alcohol markers as they are an easier medium to use and the cost point is much less. I love that they can be blended to create different colours and I ‘survived’ with the 72 piece happily for years (the smaller set would be great too). And if you were wanting to try them first you can always just buy a few of your favourite colours separately and try them out. You don’t have to blend them with Gamsol, they can actually blend as you colour if you want and this looks especially good on dark cardtstock. But the stumps and white odourless mineral spirit (Gamsol) is quite cheap and worth it too. I do hope this is helpful and that I am not offending my Copics too much, because they already know that they are well loved too… but don’t tell my Inktense pencils that lol. Have a fabulous and crafty day, Therese

  59. Well, I think we can all be grateful to Linda, Therese … so pleased she encouraged you to go for it … we’re all of us all the better for it! Gorgeous trio … I do love turnabouts (though don’t have this one) … and love how you’ve showcased this one … that beaver is especially cute against the different greys! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  60. I love the variety of cards you were able to make with one turnabout stamp. The splattered card really feels like a party! Thanks for your videos and the chance to win.

  61. Dear Therese
My heart started to pound faster with excitement seeing the lovely creations you and Linda made using the concord and 9th Marbled turnabout stamp. I loved the cute beaver too. They are gorgeous.and the colors are striking too.
The other card using the single stamp Wispy Begonia and the sentiment Thanks is a absolute beauty. Love them all. Thanks for the inspiration and kindness.
Dear Linda we are greatful to you for bringing out the talented crafter, Therese and showing her to the world. We get to see great creations by her thanks to you.
May both of you and your families be blessed with Good health and happiness always. Love and hugs from Sri Lanka

  62. I’m so glad Linda encouraged you to start a blog and just “go for it.” Your designs are always, always inspiring, and they’re always creative and fun. You were the first person I truly watched via YT. Your videos don’t have “too much” in them, and in fact, they’re just right! I love these cards. I had trouble with the turnabout (damn dyslexia) and now may have to invest in the jig and see if I can make them work as sweetly as you have. I especially love that little boy in your middle card. He’s adorable. And I do love this marbled look. You have a wonderful week my friend. And don’t ever stop creating!! xo

  63. These are all beautiful, but then again your cards always are! Love that turnabout background and might have to purchase that one. It will be my first turnabout stamp set. (Gasp!!!!!Where has she been?) LOL!

  64. All three cards are great and although I love the little beaver the party card is my favorite, Therese. I love the bright splashes of color with the black turnabout and the little boy jumping for joy.

  65. I love the versatility of the turnabout background that you showcased by using different “embellishing” styles.

  66. Love seeing what you make, Ive not taken the plunge yet with the turnabout stamps, but I think I just might have too now!, looking forward to meeting you for real, at the Altenew workshop.

  67. These cards are fabulous! I really like the marble background. So glad your friend convinced you to create a blog because I love seeing what you create and post.

  68. I’m so glad you did this collaboration! A) because I loved seeing how you used this stamp and B) because you introduced me to Linda. I’m so glad she encouraged you to submit to magazines and expand, because your videos are some of my favorites. And now I get to follow Linda, too!

  69. I don’t have any turnabout stamps yet but I am so pleased you showed your creations with one. I love the 3 different looks you achieved, from fun to fancy! Thanks so much.

  70. I sure enjoyed your “collab” videos. I sure think that beaver is the cutest stamp to go along with the marble turnabout stamp. It was neat to hear how you and Linda met and how she encouraged you. Also so neat that you get to live so close now. My sister-in-law and I used to “craft” with her in Virginia and me in Florida. We moved to Virginia and now am down the street and around the corner from her. We still do lots of text messaging and share what we do even though we are so close. Glad you have such a great friend.

  71. Awesome cards with this fun Turnabout stamp! love all the different color combos… so many possibilities! I really love the card with the gorgeous begonia! The beaver is adorable, and the fun party card looks awesome with those bright splats added!
I’m off to check out Linda’s projects for this collaboration!

  72. Love the turnabout stamp! I have been waiting to buy it and I am now inspired to purchase it! Love the floral!!

  73. I love anything marbled! The cards in this collaboration are so beautiful! It is also great to hear your story and how you got started in this business. Thanks so much!

  74. Turnabouts are so fun and unique. Love seeing what you did with this set. Great card. Love your YouTube videos. I follow you all the time.

  75. LOve all the cards! So neat how versatile that background is. I really enjoy your work. TFS

  76. Fantastic cards! I love how you shared so many different techniques and products all in the same video! I just bought my first turnabout stamp and can’t wait to try it out 🙂

  77. Wonderful creations from both you and Linda, Therese! I can imagine the fun and laughter throughout the day! Great you are both close now! Keep enjoying yourselves! You’re both so beautiful and talented! xx
