Welcome to my first Same But Different Collab and today it’s time to Turnabout with Linda! I have 3 cards to share with you and today I chose the Concord & 9th Marbled Turnabout stamp for all of my designs.
I am so amazed at how easy it is to change up the whole look of a card by adding more or less turns and by what images I chose to add. Starting with some Gentleman’s Grays.
And added a sweet little Avery Elle beaver which I coloured with pencils.
I kept a similar design for all of the cards and I thought it would be fun to add bright splats to my second background.
The image is from Waffle Flower Crafts Yippee stamp set and this time I did some simple Copic colouring.
My final card design is a single stamp yet again.
But this time I did some simple watercolouring of the beautiful Wispy Begonia and added a sentiment from Big Thanks Words.

Fabulous as always. This is a great turnabout as are many of the others I have and it is fun to see different ways to use it and different color schemes. Adding the splatters of oxide inks is very pretty.
I just bought my first turnabout stamp – dies and the tool kit from Concord & 9th. Am inspired to use them after seeing you gorgeous creations. Great cards and such a variety using the same background stamp.

Therese, it was so fun seeing how you and Linda created cards in your own unique styles while using the same stamp! Sooo much inspiration (I really love the one with the splatter and the WF boy)! I think it’s lovely that she got you into blogging, etc. and that you’ve maintained your friendship all these years. Those backgrounds are clever. I thought the beaver was cute and the flower was really pretty, but the black background with the bright splotches is a real eye catcher and would make a perfect card for the males.

Great cards, really like the first and third cards, but have to say the splashes of ink on the second one really appeals to me. You’ve outdone yourself. Now just to hopefully make you feel, since I gave up paid employment I find I have less time. I have no idea where it all goes but I used to get much more done when I was a full time shift worker. I really would love to know why this is happening. However you may be more disciplined than I?

I love hearing the birds during your videos, and hearing you! Your voice is very soothing. Those cards are great – clean and simple is my fave! I don’t have any background stamps, but after seeing this, I may have to get one. Also, I see you have the Krystal Katana… Is it worth the extra expense as compared to other jewel pickers?
Hi Lori, Out of all the pick up tools that I have tried the Krystal Katana has become my go-to fave, it also works well to pick up little pieces of cardstock when I am inlay die cutting. I managed to buy mine at a papercraft show and it was half the price so it was much more affordable to me… but it was already on my list to buy and I was going to spend full price lol. My second choice would be the Marvy Jewel picker, that also worked well for a while but I found it difficult to reactivate the ‘stick’ then I did try a glue dot on the end that did work well too (BTW my Marvy Jewel picker is years and years old so I can’t complain). Hi Therese! I have learned so much from you and appreciate all the time and effort you put in to sharing your talent and creativity. I think that turnabout stamp is amazing. They are all great cards and I especially liked the beaver card (and typically I’m not a big critter fan). I thought it looked like an aerial view of a beaver near his river/stream. So cute! I haven’t used pencils w/ gamsol or Copics (yet) and have to ask if there’s one you prefer over the other? I’m hoping that’s not a silly question. I’ve been shopping for alcohol markers, but really liked how smooth looking the image was using the Prismacolor pencils with the gamsol.
Hi Cecilia, both mediums are amazing and I like the different effect that they give. But, if you are new to colouring or not sure, I would suggest the Prismas over alcohol markers as they are an easier medium to use and the cost point is much less. I love that they can be blended to create different colours and I ‘survived’ with the 72 piece happily for years (the smaller set would be great too). And if you were wanting to try them first you can always just buy a few of your favourite colours separately and try them out. You don’t have to blend them with Gamsol, they can actually blend as you colour if you want and this looks especially good on dark cardtstock. But the stumps and white odourless mineral spirit (Gamsol) is quite cheap and worth it too. I do hope this is helpful and that I am not offending my Copics too much, because they already know that they are well loved too… but don’t tell my Inktense pencils that lol. You were the first person I truly watched via YT. Your videos don’t have “too much” in them, and in fact, they’re just right! I love these cards. I had trouble with the turnabout (damn dyslexia) and now may have to invest in the jig and see if I can make them work as sweetly as you have. I especially love that little boy in your middle card. These are all beautiful, but then again your cards always are! Love that turnabout background and might have to purchase that one. It will be my first turnabout stamp set. (Gasp!!!!!Where has she been?) LOL!
All three cards are great and although I love the little beaver the party card is my favorite, Therese. I love the bright splashes of color with the black turnabout and the little boy jumping for joy.

I sure enjoyed your “collab” videos. I sure think that beaver is the cutest stamp to go along with the marble turnabout stamp. It was neat to hear how you and Linda met and how she encouraged you. Also so neat that you get to live so close now. My sister-in-law and I used to “craft” with her in Virginia and me in Florida. We moved to Virginia and now am down the street and around the corner from her. We still do lots of text messaging and share what we do even though we are so close. Glad you have such a great friend.
