How to Make a Clean & Simple Masculine Card + Video!

I am out of my comfort zone totally as today I share an easy ‘messy’ way to watercolour.  I have a VERY clean & simple card today in my Cards 4 Men series.  And I add colour using Brushos, it’s not smoke and mirrors it’s easy!

I really wanted a modern simple stylised card…  kinda like those expensive store bought ones (although if you have seen how much I have in my room, I know which one really costs more, no one could ever say we craft to save money lol).

You can see the process of creating my rusty car in the video linked below.  I used a Christmas (yes, Christmas) die set from Right at Home called Holidays are on the Way.

And my sentiment is a simple one from Penny Black from a set called You’re Retro.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

Do you like to make clean & simple designs?  like the posh ones in the card shop, maybe you could try it too. Looking forward to seeing you here again real soon, Hugs

  1. Totally cool, cute, fun card Therese. I love my Brusho’s and what a super colour you got here. They are soooooooo much fun. Great idea to use the acetate for the shiny windows and those wheels are the bomb. Try the black brusho and you will be blown away!

  2. Love the rust look. I haven’t bought a store card in years! but know the ones you mean very little for lots of $! Although I agree we don’t make cards/craft cause it is cheaper haha one stamp set one card um not really cost effective and without all the other goodies “I need”. Haven’t ventured to brushos however watching your video I’m wondering if the kiddos powder paints would work like this (yes I still have them!), maybe time to dig them out. 😉

  3. Oh my gosh!! how adorable is this little, rusty car??!!! And those Brushos are amazing, love how the little specks of color travel through the water to create this gorgeous watercolor backgrounds.
A sweet and totally masculine card, Therese, thank you for sharing.
    Hugs.

  4. I’ve had one play with Brushos… it was long ago, while visiting Bobby. One might say I’d be a bit rusty at it! You’ve captured the fun with them today, Therese … so great! Worth ten of those store-bought ones! xx

  5. Oh my, love that retro car, especially as it reminds me of my first car. What a fun stinkin cute card. I love watching you create your cards as you always inspire me and I learn. Appreciate your sharing of your time and talents.

  6. Putting the acetate in for the windows did elevate the quality of your card, Therese. It’s worthy of the high price a store would charge.

  7. Such a fabulous old rusty car! I love how you finished of the card with the acetate and perfect sentiment! Sorry I’ve been MIA lately, the kids have been on spring break.

  8. Muuuuch trendier and much more fun that one of those boutique-y cards, Therese … fabulous rusty brusho car … perfect with the acetate windows! Hugs, Anita 🙂
