How to Make 2 Beautiful Floral Cards with Shading Tips + Video!

Today I share 2 cards using the Altenew Peaceful Reverie Stamp Set.  This is part of my Take 2 with Therese video series with Altenew and if you haven’t caught any of these videos before I have a link to my playlist with more inspiration HERE.

Today is part of a Stamp Highlight post for Altenew and this set has such a unique layer to add shading, it uses stippling!

I started with stamped layered flowers and popped them up on a Cozy Flannel Cover Die card front.

I added a sentiment from the Flower Vines Stamp Set (again)….

and then some Green Fields Enamel Dots to the centre of the flowers.

My second card is where I amped it up and added my shading using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I love that this changed up the total look of the flower.

This time I added a Jet Black ink splattered background

and a sentiment from the Fancy Greeting Stamp Set using my new fave the Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink.

  1. Beautiful cards Therese. Love the colours you have chosen to use. Bright and beautiful, clean and crisp. I love that you do this second take on the products. Especially as it reminds me that I have all these items in my stash that I still have to use and you provide the inspiration to use them in so many different ways. Thank you😻

  2. Your pencil shading is remarkable. Thanks for the reminder to use purples for shadows and shading! I learned that with Copic coloring on skin tones but had not translated it to flowers! Silly me!

  3. I LOVE YOU!♥ (Big Smile in Heart!) Thank YOU for giving me hope and tools to feel/be artistically creative!♥♥♥

  4. Gorgeous cards Therese, your pencil coloring is magnificent, love how you followed the shading on the stamped flowers to guide you while coloring the yellow flowers, just stunning.
    Thank you for the inspiration.
    Hugs.
    Maria.

  5. Beautiful cards as always Therese. I preferred the shading with the pencils as it seemed more life-like and the use of the purple to shade was ingenious. Your colour selection is great – the yellow and purple just go so well.

  6. Wow what amazing and beautiful shading you created here Therese. I am in awe of your talents. Gorgeous stamps and colours. Of course I love purple! Love the die cut panel on the first card. It’s a stunner!

  7. Gorgeous cards as always, love the colour combo on these. Off for a coffee and to watch the video hugs XoX

  8. So pretty. Love the colors you selected and the different effects you demonstrated. Thanks so much for sharing.

  9. Oh, the purple and yellow are so pretty together. Such fabulous backgrounds as well… love that die cut one big time.

  10. Delicate and so lovely, Therese … the soft buttery yellow is gorgeous with the vibrant purple! Thanks for including all your colouring on the video … I’ll watch you colour any time! Hugs, Anita 🙂
