Same But Different Christmas Card Series 2019 – Elves in Copics & Pencils + Video!

Welcome to my Same But Different Christmas Card Series for 2019.  And what better way to begin than with some Penny Black elves.  My Gimme 5 cards series began with an idea from Jill, which came from this very Christmas series, so a BIG thank you Jill, for your support and encouragement!

Today I wanted to compare some colouring and also to share how easy it is to make some simple changes to a card so that it can look the same but different (wink).

I started with the Bauble Balance Elf and used my Copics to add some bright cheery colours.

The sentiment for this card is from the Beaming Stamp Set.

I offset the same image on some Desert Storm Cardstock and coloured this time with Prismacolor Pencils.

I added a die cut sentiment this time from the Merry and Joy Die set.

The second Elf is from the Beaming Stamp Set and again started with Copics.

The sentiment for this is from the Thrill of Hope Stamp Set.

This time I centred the image and coloured it again with Prismacolor Pencils – to me both versions look similar but there are some differences  for sure.

The die cut sentiment this time comes from …bright and a small ‘everything’ from the Merry Builder Stamp Set.

My final card design is a little different and this time I wanted to use the pencils on the white cardstock.  I stamped the elves together and did some simple highlight colouring.

This time I stamped the sentiment over the images and I used the Merry Builder Stamp Set again (this one is a beaut)!

I’d love to know, what medium is your fave to colour with?  For me? I travel between them all I think lol..  Now don’t go far, because I have a bunch more Christmas inspiration coming up at my blog!  Big Christmasscardy hugs,
