Altenew November 2019 Gradient Cardstock Set Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

These new Cardstocks are not just for layering…  Today I share 3 different ways to use them!  But first, did you know

that this is part of a Hop celebrating the new release from Altenew and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from NATHALIE’s fabulous Blog!

Starting with my ‘leftovers’ and and inlay die cut technique. This beautiful Layered Rose Die does have layers but I thought it would look pretty with the different colours inlaid instead.

This Cherry Blossom Gradient Cardstock Set would have to be my fave, just look at those pinks!  I also decided to use the cardstock to create my own ombre striped background – stripes are so in right now, they are addictive!

My final design (and video) show how I created this ‘rose lace’ style card front and a sweet Mariposa layered butterfly.  I used the Red Cosmos Gradient Cardstocks for the darkest colour to get some extra contrast in these cards.

I also added some sentiments to these designs from the Stone Mosaic Stamp Set which has some great fonts and fab sentiments!

  1. Oh I love these gorgeous cards! That ombre stripe background, layered rose ombre die cuts are fabulous and the first card with the ombre inlay is so pretty, love to get more cards out of those die cuts.

  2. Love your cards today Therese. The colours are so rich they remind me of chocolate and cherries and Neapolitan ice cream. Yes, it’s tea time here, so that’s the way my mind is working. Both designs are beautiful and as usual, I’m inspired and my shopping list is to hand! The cardstock is fabulous and yet another “must have”. Thank you for another enjoyable and informative video. ❤️

  3. Gorgeous! I have that same layered rose die but have never gotten it to look that good. Guess that cardstock will be finding it’s way into my shopping cart!

Such beautiful cards and the inlay was just inspired.
These new card packs are amazing and I love the colours that you’ve used today.
    The pinks are awesome!
I remember back when the mini blossom die cutting machine was released.
I ordered one because it was so sweet and new how great it would look on my desk.
Little did I know how much I’d use it. It’s an awesome tool and I’d be lost without it.
    Thanks and cheers
    Lisa

    1. Sweet! That’s a great reason to buy anything, but then when it becomes practical as well, it’s ticks the best box, so glad you are using it, I love mine too, it’s just so handy! Thanks yet again for your lovely visit Lisa x

  15. Gradient cardstocks make it so easy to color coordinate your projects and for die cutting! Love the size, too!! Beautiful projects!!

  16. Such pretty cards. Love that the color groups take the guess work out of the color combination which is a big help for me!

  17. Lacey roses definitely make a beautiful card. Great job. Love your excitement about the gradient cardstock.

  18. I love your cards, especially the inlaid flower. The gradient cardstock is really a great idea, making a complete look with dies, ink and cardstock.

  19. I loved the card that you used in the video! I cannot wait to get the gradient cardstock into my stash.Thank you for sharing your techniques with us!

  20. My first thought when I saw these beautiful gradient papers was that would be so great for Altenew’s 3D dies (which I love). Now you’ve shown me other uses. I’m sold!

  21. Wow. I always love your bold graphic designs. These remind me of Neopolitan ice cream! Yummy.

  22. The name Cherry Blossom is so fitting. It made me think of a chocolate bar I used to buy called Lowneys Cherry Blossom. It came in a box & was a milk chocolate mound, not a bar, with ground peanuts & it had a maraschino cherry in the centre. Talk about super sweet. I couldn’t eat one now. But I digress… Your card is beautiful using those yummy colours.

  23. Dreamy and delicate and oh so scrumptious, Therese … that lacy rose background is gorgeous! Love how you used the left overs on that lovely bloom against the stripes … so striking! Hugs, Anita 🙂
