How to Make a Beautiful Metallic Sympathy Card + Video!

Did you see the news, I am the Creative Guest this month at WOW! and I’ve been heating it up!  I have the most incredible embossing powder to share with you in my video today.  And just in case you missed my other post and video you can check it out HERE.

You ‘need’ to check out this Perissa embossing powder created by Marion Emberson, it is a colour blend of silver and copper…..   and IRL totally amazing to see.

I chose a solid image from the Dot Botanicals Stamp Set from Altenew.

Then I added some dainty Garden Treasure flowers for which I used the Rose Gold Embossing Powder. You can watch the whole process in the video linked below.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

I had a great time combining dainty and metallic….   do you ever mix it up, combine things that just shouldn’t seem to work, but you just want to do it anyway? lol.  Hope you had fun here today, I’ll be back real soon,

  1. Beautiful card Therese. Nice to hear the old Tombows are still getting used. They were some of the first colouring mediums I got back in the day, and they still work. Gosh that must give my age away lol. Thank for sharing, looking forward to seeing more WOW creations.

  2. Such a stunning card! The Wow embossing powder is amazing.
I noticed that your using their heat tool, how do you rate it?
My old Wagner is years old and I know it will need to be replaced soon.
    Cheers

    1. Hi Lisa, I really liked my Wagner tool but was disappointed that it only lasted a few years and it is not an option for us to buy one here in Australia at the moment. I was very excited that WOW! gifted me one of their tools (because they weren’t available in Australia at the time and I was going to order one from the UK and change the plug over as we are 240V as well) and I have to say that I have been using it for a while to make sure that I liked it before I commented. But I really do like it, it’s fast to melt, it has a protective end over the metal so it doesn’t get as hot as the Wagner did at the tip. But my favourite part of it is the dual speed. I didin’t realise just how much I would use the low speed, I use it to dry watercoloring and inks etc. it’s fabulous! Hope this is helpful, have a great and crafty day, Therese x

  3. It’s always great to see you using older stamp sets with new products. Love what you created using these new embossing powders. Thank you for continuing to inspire us.

  4. Beautiful sympathy card, Therese. That chunky embossing powder looks amazing. Here in the Midwest US, wasps lay eggs on the leaves and they leave a really cool texture. This ep reminds me of that. The color alone has my interest piqued. Your design is lovely, and I love that you didn’t shy away from the rose gold ep for your flowers. Beautiful card. xo

  5. That EP is just so rich and luxurious, Therese … and the bold, leafy sprig is such a delicious contrast with those delicate, dainty pink and gold blooms … lovely! Hugs, Anita 🙂
