How to Make a Fun Inside Tunnel Card + Video!

I took the plunge!  It’s been a long time coming and it took me ages to get it to work  (but I’m sure that’s more user error than anything else lol) but I finally have entered the world of, IGTV at Instagram! You can watch a speed colouring of this sweet little BFF Owl at my Insta channel HERE (it’s in horizontal mode but you can click the square thingy at the bottom of the video and it will turn round on your phone or open up on your pc).

So I made my first tunnel card today and decided to the process of that in the video below.  It was my sister’s birthday and she deserved a ‘special’ card so it was time to get interactive.

She adores owls and this one is perfect with it’s little coffee cup!

I used lots of different fun products for this project including the Speech Bubbles set from Altenew for the inside sentiment.

I also added some leaves and flowers from the Weekend Doodles Stamp Set,

with a big ’50’ on the front, just so she doesn’t forget (wink)!

And the Bubble Wrap Stencil was an easy way to add a fab pattern to the front of the design.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

I was totally inspired by Jennifer McGuire (let’s face it, who isn’t) and if you want to see the ‘real tutorial’ on how to create your own Inside Tunnel Card check her video out HERE.

And I also want to say a big thank you to all those who have reached out to me to ensure I am safe, these fires are truly out of control and we did have some close to us before Christmas but at present all is good.  We are feeling very lucky and I am feeling very loved, so thank you x

  1. I’m sure your sister will like this cute card. The combo of copic and pencil colouring looks great. I was able to watch the IGTV on IG even though I’m not signed up. Sometimes they stop me looking for too long without an account but this was fine. Happy New Year!

  2. Soooo glad you are safe. I’m happy that you are still able to do these videos as I really like what you create. I’m always looking forward to the next one.

  3. I’ve been so hoping those fires have steered clear of your area, Therese! So glad to know you’re safe, and sound!
GO YOU!! There isn’t anything that you can’t do, my friend! Off to watch this darling come to life – your no-line coloring is exceptional, my friend! xx

  4. So glad to see that you have posted. I was telling my husband that I was worried about you yesterday as I had not seen a post from you in awhile. What a darling card. Getting ready to watch your video but wanted to comment right away to say glad you are safe. Praying for Australia!

  5. So glad you are safe, I have been worried. I don’t know what area you live in but it seems like all of Australia is burning! The US news covers it every night and it looks awful. I hope by bringing in the military that this can get knocked out soon. I worry about all of the animals, my heart breaks for them esp. the koalas. I hope you stay safe and that God will bless Australia and this will all end soon.

  6. Super fun card and I’m sure you sister loved it!! 🙂 Glad to hear you are safe and sound, hope all stays that way and that soon things will be over. Hugs

  7. Simply fabulous Therese. What a masterpiece you have here. Love the tunnel fold. Looks so fiddly but then we go the extra mile for someone special don’t we. That owl image is so ‘darling’ and your sister will love her card. So glad the fires aren’t near us but how devastating to see what is happening south of the border.

  8. So happy you are safe. It is so devastating and heartbreaking to watch. Sending hugs my friend. <3

I just LOVE all the pink!!! Just a very happy and fun card.

  9. Congratulations on your first foray into IGTV, Therese … and thanks for the link. I’m not on instagram (so can’t comment), though enjoyed your colouring there as much as I always enjoy your YT videos. Fantastic card … so clever … and so cute! I’m certain your sister loved it! So happy to hear you’re safe and well … big hugs, Anita 🙂

    1. Thanks so much Anita, I hope to add more to the IGTV soon, still a big learning curve for me who is very tech challenged, seriously I struggle to use the smart phone that I got 2 years ago, I call it the not so smart phone (or is the user) lol.

  10. What a fabulous card for your sister. Will have to save this and take another look when I’m back me. Currently in Yarrawonga.
Glad to hear you are safe and not effected by the smoke to much which there is little escaping from at the moment.
Eldest daughter has just meet us here after a camping trip up the coast via Gippsland. She seemed to be one day ahead of the fires but did have an unplanned stay at an evacuation centre in Ulladulla. She has mentioned the air where we are is the cleanest she’s had for 2+ weeks. I fear the loss of summer trade will effect these communities and the tough road ahead to rebuild. It’s going to be a long summer! Stay safe.

    1. I am happy to hear that your daughter is safe, it’s truly devastating and feels surreal! It will be a very long road to recovery, but Aussies are a tough breed. Hugs x

  11. I can’t believe I’m so far behind on your blog and videos! This card for your sister is fabulous! Your instructions were very clear and I can’t wait to see you color that owl!

  12. Sorry for huge delay in leaving card love, wicked card, love the shocking pink. Glad to see you make it so easily, might give it a try after all as still thought I’d muck it up after watching Jennifer, but you’ve convinced me to try it. Hope all is still going ok for you fire wise, much crafting hugs, stay safe x

    1. The card came together much easier than I thought, so I hope it is the same for you, though I will say that I think only adding one ‘tunnel’ on the inside would definitely make it even easier. good luck and have fun! Crafty hugs, Therese
