Altenew Build-A-Flower: Begonia Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

How are you inspired?  For me, there are so many different ways, but today I chose one of my faves….  But first, did you know that we are hopping along to celebrate the new Build-A-Flower: Begonia from Altenew and so you should have arrived here from the NICOLE’s amazing Blog!

Today I found my inpiration at Pinterest (seriously, it’s a wonderland for creators!) and in particular this pic HERE (which I am definitely going to use again but with the letters next time).  I keep a group of pics together and when I want ‘help’ whether it be design or colour, this is where I often head to.

……..Where do you go for inspiration?????

My peekaboo sentiment was made using the Caps Bold Alphabet Dies and some Dark Gray Cardstock.

I simply added a heat embossed sentiment from the Hello and Hugs Stamp Set.

  1. Need I say it? well, I will … you HAD ME at grey! But I spy a bloom that I won’t be able to resist!! LOve your inspiration, Therese – what a great find that was!
    =]

    1. Hi Michele, I can’t remember exactly where I found this wonderful inspiration photo at Pinterest but I thought it may have been via you…. but it must have been somewhere down the rabbit hole of Pinterest lol. Hugs Tx

  2. Love the color combination of blues with the gray!
Glad to know I’m not the only one who dies cuts “wonky” and has to fix the panel! 🙂

  3. Your card designs and style are so distinctive, I feel quite proud of myself for recognizing them. 😛 This is BEAUTIFUL and what an elegant colour pairing.

  4. I love the way you used the begonias and a background for your peekaboo sentiment, very creative.

  5. I…umm…sometimes have to straighten up a panel and recognized what you were doing! Thanks for sharing so we can feel better about it when we mess up! Pinterest is a good place to get inspiration when my mojo is napping. Sometimes just one little feature on a card will spark an idea. This begonia set is really nice and I love your peek-a-boo card and the colors!

  6. Stunning color combo, and fabulous design Therese! Love the floral background peeking through the bold die cut sentiment! Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. I love your card! I have the large alphabet and I would like to make a similar card. Thanks for the inspiration!

  8. I am a big fan of your art and I always enjoy watching your videos on YouTube. I loved this card – great inspiration!

  9. really effective technique! Love this card. I prefer using the outline for the contrast and skipping the base layer as you did (with nowhere need the same results, of course). This is a beauty!

  10. I think the image peeking around the sides looks great. Using just a few layers of stamping looks lovely too.

  11. A lovely card! I’m waiting for my hello and hugs stamp & die set to arrive. I already have the bold caps dies, so I’ll definitely have to use your card as inspiration to make a version of my own.

  12. Great show casing. Love the subtle bloom behind the bold sentiment panel.

Inspiration – love pinterest! CASing always for me!! If I am really stuck I might google. More often than not I recreate something I have made before – probably a little lazy, but hey if it works why not? I have a few goto sketch/layouts I prefer. I like challenges but the last year or so I have hardly participated they are always great as a starting point/motivator.

    1. I agree, I used to find so much inspiration in the challenges and what a fun way to challenge myself too, being able to create something with what I have according to the challenge’s rules. And I am like you, I do not have enough time to join those, but love to look on from the sidelines. Crafty hugs, Tx

  13. I love how your card turned out! Thanks for sharing your Pinterest inspiration too. I love the colors you chose.

  14. Gorgeous blue begonias background, love the gray die cut panel overlay! Thanks for another awesome video tutorial.

  15. Beautiful. I love the negative alphabet lettering, and the beautiful pattern behind it! Also, have to say I love how you stage all your cards. I really like the marble background. It is so classy and doesn’t ever take away from the card. Beautiful staging. Is that from a counter top?

    1. Hi Annette, my ‘marble’ background is actually 12″ design paper from Kaisercraft, a much much cheaper and lighter option than marble lol. I do have a few different ones but this is my fave and pretty much seems to suit everything. thank you so very much for your lovely visit here today, Crafty hugs, Therese

  16. I love how you created such a great background for any card sentiment. Thanks for the inspiration.

  17. Great idea to use the begonia’s as a back ground and love the look of those new letters…Fabulous card. You rock Therese

  18. I love the way you used these stamps to create such a beautiful background for the rest of your card. This is really very beautiful.

    1. Really neat card. I really like the dark gray card stock you used with the sea glass and other blues.

  19. What a great idea! Every blog hop provides me with new ideas on how to make cards and use my supplies. TFS your talent and creativity with us.

  20. Love your card with the light blue begonias in the background and the statement wording on the front. Tfs x

  21. Hi Therese 🙂 I love the creative twist…using it as a background… you used to showcase the versatility of this BAF: Begonia!!! What a lovely background it makes too! Thanks for inspiring me 🙂

  22. Beautiful card! I love how easy this set is to line up and the flowers look lovely with just a few of the layers. Thanks for sharing.

  23. This is so awesome!! Great idea; I love the flower of the patterns showing through. Definitely pinning this for inspiration for later!
