Altenew March 2020 Stamp / Die / Stencil Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

If you like flowers then you are in the right place, today I have lots of them to share with you….  But first, did you know

that this is part of a Hop celebrating a new release from Altenew and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from NATHALIE’s fab Blog!

I have 3 cards and a video to share starting with some pencil shading on a simple Line Art Stamp Set.  It’s almost like no-line colouring….  but not… as it’s a solid image, so it’s easier in some ways.

Altenew - Line Art - Hello and Hugs - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copyI added a sentiment from the Hello and Hugs Stamp Set.

Altenew - Line Art - Hello and Hugs - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copyMy second card is CAS again and this time I added a dramatic background using the Spheres & Spirals Stamp Set….   and watch this space, there may be more of them to come!

Altenew - Spheres & Spirals - Fabulous Florets - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copyThese gorgeous flowers are from the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set.

Altenew - Spheres & Spirals - Fabulous Florets - Therese Calvird (card) 1 copyAnd I used them again for my next design, but today I have a fun VERY easy watercolour look technique to share in my video.

Altenew - Fabulous Florets - Mega Hello - Therese Calvird (card video) 2 copyThe sentiment for this card is a Mega Hello Die cut…  these huge sentiments are up there with some of my faves and a sub sentiment from the Delicate Flower Bed Stamp set.

Altenew - Fabulous Florets - Mega Hello - Therese Calvird (card video) 2 copyYou can see the unboxing and card video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  1. Wow! I love this technique- your card is beautiful! I’m definitely giving this a try!

  2. Extraordinary cards, Therese! You know by now I’m not a fan of blue … but today? You HAD ME with this gorgeous card in shades of blue – gah, that NAVY again!! so cool… xx
    =]

  3. Wow what a pretty card. I love the colours. Will have to try this technique for sure.
What did you use to create the black and white back ground in the card with the circle – really grabs your attention with the pink.

    1. Hi Marion, the black circle was is from the Spheres & Spirals Stamp Set https://shrsl.com/25tt7 and I stamped it in Obsidian Pigment Ink. I’ve got some more cards coming very shortly using this same set, the graphics make perfect backgrounds. Hope you have the most fabulous day! Crafty hugs, Therese

  4. Blue is such a calming color, and we all need that right now. Thank you for sharing this beautiful card design. I always look forward to your videos. By the way, the other two cards are also amazing. 😃

  5. All your cards are gorgeous. I’m not a big fan of orange, but I think card number one might be my favourite and I might just be a convert. Another great release.

  6. I look forward to your inspiring videos. Love the sharp black circle behind the flower, and will be trying to recreate the watercolor card with my big hello die. Thank you, again, for sharing your talents and crafting joy.

  7. Gorgeous cards as always. I’d forgotten about this watercolor technique so I’m going to have fun with that today!

  8. Simply stunning designs Therese! Love them all, but your Watercolor stamped card is my favorite. Thank you for the video and inspiration! Have a wonderful day!

  9. Loved that we got a video on that watercolor technique! You are so daring – I am totally afraid that I wouldnt have been able to let all those puddles alone! Great release of some awesome products.

  10. The Line Art stamp was already a favorite and now the Fabulous Florets Stamp goes on the list. These are all so gorgeous and I love them all! Sigh!

  11. Your cards are gorgeous but I love the blue one. Those shades of blue are perfect, with the large hello and the sweet and direct sentiment underneath.

  12. Beautiful cards…that line art card is stunning! I ordered that stamp set right away!

  13. Great to see how you put this beautiful card together. The watercolour background looks awesome.

  14. So beautiful as always Therese. Another fantastic release from Altenew too!

  16. Lovely! Gorgeous! Beautiful! That’s what you create…and that’s what you put out into the world…your mum must be so proud! Thanks for sharing these amazing new Altenew products and for always brightening my day! 💛✨✨

  17. Love this card and technique! Don’t usually do bright blue but for this design, it is PERFECT! The outline stamp pulls it all into ‘focus’ yet it still retains its sweet watercolour appeal! LOVE THIS! Therese, I must thank you for ‘teaching me’ how to slow down the videos!…SO MUCH FUN and it has brought a new dimension into my learning experiences! ♥♥♥ Big Grateful Hug!

  18. My Mom loved hues of blue, me not so much but I’m trying. This card is so CAS…I struggle with that. I ALWAYS want to add more! lol

  19. WOW ! These cards are gorgeous, Therese. Love them all even if I have a little preference for these blue watercolored flowers. Great video and thanks for the beautiful inspiration ! x

  20. Wow! Your designs are great. I think my favorite is the card with the one pink flower and the black circle. It jumps right out at you!

  21. What wonderful cards and what a great video. I love the technique and the card is just gorgeous in those shades of blue. Another great Altenew release.

  22. Watercolor stamping is a great technique and I need to believe that it will get better once you stamp the outline because yours came out beautiful. And yes the turquoise colors and blues are calling my name also!! 🙂

  23. Wow, I never thought of using the Line Art stamps that way!! At first glance I thought you’d foiled them! Beautiful coloring! Plus I love your ‘water color’ technique! It’s gorgeous and so randomly fun!

  24. Wow, what great cards! Loved your video of how to do that watercolor technique. It is so hard to wait and see how it is going to come out, but your card was amazing! You have inspired me to try it again!

  25. Great video & I’m one of those that love watercolour but struggle with it. Maybe it’s because I am using actual watercolour tubes & not the markers? Fabulous card & the blues are gorgeous. This is another great release.

  26. Two deliciously CAS and gorgeous designs, Therese … the flowers pop wonderfully against all that glorious white! Your last card is a stunner … beautiful watercolour floral background … love how the soft, unstructured colour is ‘corraled’ by the outlines! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  27. I love both of your projects using the fabulous floral Stamp Set. I think it’s awesome how you can use one stamp set to create two different locks. You made some beautiful things thanks for inspiring.

  28. Therese, I just love your style! I love the way you showcased this release. I love the Black Circle window behind the delicate flower. You have such inspiring composition! I want it all!!

  29. Amazing cards as always. Neat the way you added pencil shading to the first one and the black lined circle of the second one really helps the beautiful flower to pop. Thanks for the video showing how you got the water color look for the third card. I’ll definitely be giving that technique a try. Thanks for all the great inspiration!

  30. Beautiful cards. My favorite is the one you featured in your video. I love the Fabulous Florets set and the technique you used is so cool. I must try that!

  31. I think even I could handle no line coloring like that, Therese. I love that Floret set and it may be my next Altenew purchase. The loose watercolor worked out beautifully.

  32. oh.my.gosh!!! the stamped outlines totally transformed the watercolour areas. absolutely STUNning, Therese.

  33. These are all lovely, but that first one is just so striking. Love the pencil shading, so gorgeous!

  34. I’ve been admiring your cards from a long time now. But you just caught be with the hello card, the bold and brights are truly beautiful this season. I love all of them.. Very creative and fresh

  35. Ok, so this really looks like fun.. let me go get my stamps and pens and paper.. I’ll be right back and we can do this together.. Thanks for dropping my home to play! Safe and fun. Love the technique. 🙂
