How to Reverse Stamp With the MISTI + Video!

Today I have a video showing you an easy way to ‘reverse’ or ‘mirror’ stamp using the MISTI tool….   but first, did you know that today we are celebrating with a Sprinkle Shower atEllen Hutson as Emily Midgett is expecting, and it’s twins!

I don’t know about you but I do love an elephant on a baby card and the Life is a Circus set has a real cutie in it…  but I ‘needed’ 2 for twins so thus the Reverse Stamping technique lol.

This is a fab technique which I learned from Jennifer McGuire and you can find it HERE!

How to Reverse Stamp - Ellen Hutson - Life is a Circus (card video) 4I added a minty Swirl Background and changed the ‘one’ to ‘two’ using the Classic Block Alpha set.

  1. Hello Therese: First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to Emily, I’m sure she’s going to adore this card.
And, this is the best way to do the mirror stamping, WOW!!, I used to do this with a piece of acetate but it moves, it’s flimsy and most of the times, the ink smudged on the paper.
This idea to use a background stamp is brilliant, thank you so much for sharing.
Let us know when the twins arrive, I’m thinking they will be two girls.😘
    Sending hugs.
    Maria.

    1. This is a great technique from Jennifer McGuire and I have linked her video at my blog if you want even more ideas. Thanks so much for your lovely visit Maria, Crafty hugs, Therese

  2. Therese! I love this! Such a clever way to do a twins card! I hope you’re well and your cat blessing your video, she’s beautiful (i love black cats, well all cats really lol) And congratulations to Emily, wow, twins!

  3. I agree that there is something about elephants and babies. Maybe it is because of how cute baby elephants are. Such a cute card, love the admit two. Hello to Miss Lily.

  4. Yes Therese, I have to admit I’m partial to an elephant on a baby card too! Doubly blessed here with twins. Lovely card. Thanks for showing the reverse technique on the Misti. Haven’t tried that yet. Nice of Miss Lily to make an appearance too😻

  5. This is such a clever card idea, to use the ticket. Your elephants are the cutest! The tutorial was good – I had tried before but didn’t like how it turned out fainter, so being able to repeat stamp is great.

    1. This is a technqiue that Jennifer McGuire taught and I have her video linked if you want many more ideas on how to do it. Thanks so much Christine.

  6. What an absolutely adorable — and fantastic — idea for a baby card for twins!! GREAT idea! Thanks, Therese

  7. Wonderful tip to flip the image. Didn’t know it would also work on the clear stamps. Will definitely give this a try. Really love the change to the admit stub.

  8. Apart from this card being really clever, Therese, it’s adorable … and so fun with those two elephants with their intertwined trunks! Enjoyed Lily’s shy appearance … we have a Nibble who’s just as shy! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  9. Great card. Fab technique. A great way to stretch the stamps – cause sometimes they are just facing the wrong way!
Love your visitor too – when I was growing up I had one just like her except mine was a he! 🙂 He use to sit on my desk while I did my homework.

  10. What a great way to greet two new babies, Therese. I’ve tried that reverse stamping numerous times and it never works for me. Even inking it several times the image never comes out dark enough to match the other one.

    1. Hi Bobby,
Are you using a pigment ink? I found that the Obsidian black was the best (Onyx a close runners up), but being able to repeat stamp the reverse image in the misti makes all the difference for me to get the dark black colour. Did you see Jennifer McGuires video? I will link it here just in case you were interested https://youtu.be/rwUTmMpmPhM
Stay safe (stay inside) Big crafty hugs, Therese

  11. This is amazing. Mirror image stamping is not intuitive. Thank you so much for your tips!!!
