Altenew April 2020 Stamps / Dies / Stencils / Stamping Mat / Sequins Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

I have a video today sharing Watercolour Glazing of some beautiful flowers! Did you know that this is part of a Hop celebrating a new release from Altenew and if you are hopping along you should have arrived here from CHRISTINE’s wonderful Blog!

I have 2 cards and a video to share starting with a laaaarge flower which is actually the Mega Bloom Stencil.  I blended some Shades of Purple,

Altenew - Mega Bloom Stencil - Senitment Strips 2 - Therese Calvird (card) 2 copyand a sentiment from Sentiment Strips 2...  but it was the Ink splats that took the longest to dry on the Bristol Smooth cardstock lol.
Altenew - Mega Bloom Stencil - Senitment Strips 2 - Therese Calvird (card) 2 copyMy second card has a video and I wanted to create almost an antique rose style, so I used the Statement Flowers Stamp Set and the Artists Watercolors.
Altenew - Statement Flowers - Simply the Best - Therese Calvird (card video) 3 copyI added a bold sentiment from Simply the Best and some of the new Satin White Sequins.
Altenew - Statement Flowers - Simply the Best - Therese Calvird (card video) 3 copyHave you seen the new Stamping Mat from Altenew?  I kinda like the fact that it protects my work surface and I can use the heat tool on it…
Altenew - Statement Flowers - Simply the Best - Therese Calvird (card video) 3 copyYou can see the video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  14. The pastel card is breathtakingly beautiful! I so appreciated watching the process. I have struggled with watercolour for years but watched you work and thought “I can do this!”. Thanks for the inspiration and step-by-step encouragement! ♥♥♥

  15. Oh my goodness Therese! Your watercoloured card using my favourite product of this fabulous release, the Statement Flower, has taken my breath away with it’s subtle soft antique look. You nailed what you were trying to achieve! Was the white a watercolour or was it watered down acrylic paint or guache? Is that part of the glazing technique? I’d really like to know. Thanks.

  16. Both cards are just amazing, but the watercolor card is awesome. I love the look you created with this technique and will try it today if I can. I’m sure in my collection of floral designs, I can find something to use though I don’t have this stamp set (yet)! You always inspire and stay safe and well!

  17. Wonderful cards. Your no-line water coloring is amazing! I’ve wanted to try it, but never had the nerve. However, you’ve inspired me. This is a good time to lose myself in learning something new.

  18. WOW! those pink flowers are STUNNING! I can almost see the veins in the petals! AMAZING!

  19. I really enjoyed your video & watching your colouring process. Your watercolour card is so beautiful, soft & delicate. Thank you for the tips and inspiration.

  20. Wow, what a beautiful card. I keep trying to watercolour, not good at it. I need to have more patience. Often I get frustrated in how it looks, walk away and look at it a couple of days later and think it’s not terrible… so I keep trying, lol. Thank you for sharing your technique with us.

  21. I always love your work. ..Beautiful cards. Absolutely love the second one, it’s delicately beautiful. Looking forward to trying something similar when I can get hold of the stamp set. Hugs

  26. Beautiful! I didn’t even know what glazing was until I watched your video. You did it! You did create a soft colour with all those layers. Super pretty! I will have to try this, although, I think I will have to go with bold colours first. Looks hard to do the soft colours. THanks so much for the video. And I love the stencil with the mega flower. Super pretty. Like how simple it is. It makes such a statement!

  27. Gorgeous cards again Therese! Always enjoy your videos. Look forward to your next inspiration.

  28. Absolutely gorgeous cards, Therese! I love the Statement Flowers stamp & your card has made me see I need it in my stash!! Thank you for the inspiration!!

  29. You certainly achieved the look you were going for (nailed it)! I could listen to your voice all day; but what gives me joy is the easy style you have for presenting your information, guiding us through your process and outline the why’s and tips so easily. For a novice this type of presentation is so helpful; thanks!

  30. Gorgeous glazed design Therese, that is my favorite card, the Mega Bloom stencil looks like fun to use too!

  31. The more I see the mega Bloom stencil the more I find it to be a must-have. I do a lot of card-making and donating and this would create beautiful cards fairly quickly. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work. Stay safe.

  32. That’s a beautiful big bloom, Therese … soft and so lovely! Your gorgeous watercolour glazing brought this wonderful rose to life … it’s dreamy … and I love that ‘awesome creature’ sentiment! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  33. Stunners. I love the graphic boldness of the stencil flower and those soft watercolor ones.

  34. The pastel watercolor card is gorgeous! I agree, it’s hard to get the softer colors – especially when you add in more layers, but beautiful job.

  35. I love the soft feel you achieved with the statement flowers – those flowers can either be super bold and eye catching or have a softer look like you did. I love the versatility!

  36. I think splatter and flowers go together so well! Lovely colors! Thanks for the inspiration and please be healthy!

  37. Pretty cards! I really love the Statement Flowers set and the way you colored the flowers! Beautiful Mega Bloom stencil design too! I need to use my stencils more often!

  38. Hello lovely lady. Both the cards shown are so perfect – love, LOVE, LOVE the water coloured flowers – the colour is so delicate, almost translucent – so beautiful. Wish you’d done a Youtube on the stencil one as well. You have such a delicate touch with your colours – wish I could do that – mine never works out like yours. Still loving and enjoying your gift, thank you so much. Hope you’re keeping safe and well. Bev. XXX Big distant hugs.

  39. Therese, I SO enjoy your videos! The glazing technique turned out just beautiful, a totally soft, lovely look! Thanks for your great samples!

  40. I hope you know how much I look forward to your creations. I love the soft colors you used. Your cards are positively dreamy!
