    1. Therese, this was a great video and card! I like how you put the lightheartnedness in right away with how you felt you overworked that one leaf portion! That was funny and the way it turned out; was just great. I think you might have been over critical of yourself there… . The other funny moment I enjoyed, was when you said, “that spray in your stash was at least 110 yrs old!” Hahahahhaha that cracked me up!

Great card as always! Love your humor and stay safe! You are the coolest nurse I know! Cheers!

  1. Such a beautiful card Therese. It looks so fresh and delicate. Off to watch the video❤️

  2. Who could have imagined you would get such a beautiful image with water colors and a stencil? Gorgeous.

  3. Gorgeous watercolor! You make it look so easy! I’ve not seen this technique before!

  4. Oh my gosh – I am so excited. I’ve only just ordered this stencil from AlteNew and received an email this morning telling me it has been delivered to my home (I’m at work – one of those essential businesses). So I can hardly wait to get home tonight to try this out!!! Thank you so much!

  10. This is just beautiful, Therese!! I also have some 110 year old adhesive spray! Nice to know I’m not alone. I also had some 110 year old liquid adhesive that didn’t hold up as well. I’m talkin’ hockey puck in a bottle. LOL

  11. Nice look for the stencil. Great video showing the coloring. I like the added details.

  22. Loved your card, beautiful! I have never used watercolors with a stencil, only blending with acrylics or inks; and like watching your video for instructions. Thanks 🙏 for sharing your talents.

  23. Absolutely beautiful. The palest of blues design this flower with a white outline and black letters make this card perfect.

  24. Your work is gorgeous, you make it look so easy. Love this idea. Thanks for always inspiring and sharing!

  28. I watched your video this afternoon and I loved watching the process of you creating this beautiful card.

  29. Therese, lovely card, as soon as I saw this I was like I want to see how is it made and tadaa there is already a video that you’ve shared.. Thank you so much.. ❤️

  30. The flower looks lovely. I too have some old products in my stash; but they’re only about 100 years old,

  31. Oh my I’m so loving this and I didn’t know you could use stencils with watercolors. Love learning new techniques and Thank You for sharing your talent with us. You would never know you’re a beginner had you not told us so.
    Stay Safe,

  32. Oh my! you are Brave but as you said you had nothing to lose! I had visions of a running mess (cause that is what I would have!) however you have a secret spray. Pixie spray? I’m not famililar must look for it.

    Stunning card.

  33. Therese – this is a vision in blue! And watercoloring through a stencil – that’s a creative genius! It worked beautifully! I love the softness of it and yes! Pixie Spray is a must have! TFS!

  34. I love your card! It’s never dawned on me to watercolor through a stencil – but what you did makes me want to try. Your video was a lot of fun – I’ve got to find more from you now! Thank you so much!

  35. Love the card & the video! I enjoyed them so much I just subscribed to your YouTube channel. I apologize if there are 2 comments from me – don’t think first one posted (user error most likely 🙂 Thank you for sharing!

  36. Therese – another beautiful card and a great video. I love watching you work and your confirmation as you move through your project – Is it going to work, it just a piece of paper, etc.?. I’m sure a majority of us work like that, I know I am. Nothing beats a failure but a try! You are the paper warrior. Thank you for being the pioneer. Love your work!

  37. Gorgeous card using the Mega Bloom Stencil! All your worries about your adhesive spray were for nothing!

  38. As beautifully soft-spoken as you are. I love the simplistic beauty and your art, always.

  39. You have inspired me to try your technique. I have that stencil and will definitely try to water color it. Your card is beautiful.

  40. I love this stencil, such a great design!! Your technique is fabulous, I LOVE that color!!

  41. Did you have to spray the back of the stencil with some kind of spray adhesive so the paint would not leak??? Whatever you did — stunning.

    1. Hi Kimberly, Yes I did spray the back of the stencil with a ‘very old’ bottle of adhesive spray that says it is ‘repositionable’ if you let it dry before you lay it down…. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work but mostly it seemed to hold (unless I added too much water). I am going to try Thermoweb’s Pixie Spray (when I can get my hands on it in Australia lol). Hope you have a lovely day, Stay safe, Therese

  42. Hi Therese 🙂 You’re so funny! One hundred and ten year old adhesive spray…LOL Your card on the other hand is gorgeous…love that huge stamp and that color! I’ve thought about watercoloring through stencils but haven’t done it yet because I don’t have any “one hundred and ten year old adhesive spray” or anything newer either 😉 Thanks for the chuckle and inspiration 🙂

  43. Beautiful card! I love that softly coloured, but huge flower and that fancy black die cut sentiment looks gorgeous against it!

  44. Pretty card! Watercoloring with a stencil is something I had never thought of – now I need to try it. Thanks for the inspiration!

  45. i so enjoy watching your videos. You make me smile. I loved how your card turned out. I would never have tried to watercolor with a stencil. Nope. Now I will. And then think of you. Thanks. Staying home, reading, crafting, blog hopping and staying safe. You all take care.

  46. This is beautiful and thank you! You always make me smile with your wonderful sense of humor! Oh! I had some 110 year old masking fluid for watercolor and you can imagine what that was like! Lol! 🙂

  47. Therese- how beautiful this turned out! I would have never thought of water coloring thru a stencil and this was perfect! I so appreciated hearing your resourcefulness with age-old adhesive, the periodic doubts , and c’est la vie attitude toward whatever you ended up with, the therapy of the process being the key. Thank you so much!

  48. I would never think of watercoloring on a stencil, but you make it look easy, Therese! Another really gorgeous card…thank you so much for showing us how it’s done 🙂

  49. Simply beautiful, Therese … dreamy, elegant, gorgeous! I don’t use stencils much (don’t have many) … and never thought of watercolouring through them … though seeing how you created this lovely may well have me trying … merci mille fois! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  50. I love the look of this Therese! You say you are a beginner water colourist but you do it beautifully. (unlike someone else I know…) lol

  51. That card is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve never watercolored through a stencil, but I’m definitely going to try it. I was finally able to get my hands on some Pixie Spray but I haven’t tried it yet. This will be a good test for it.

  52. This is sooo pretty! I have never even though of watercolouring a stencil before. But I don’t think I have any removable adhesive spray either! But it turned out beautifully. And I don’t think it needed any metalic paint. And those leaves are perfectly placed, and compliment the stencil so well.

FYI – Compared to most you are an expert watercolour!

  53. Another technique for me to try with hopes of it turning out as pretty as yours.

  54. I loved your video, I could so relate to what you were saying. I am practicing my watercolor too, and I can’t wait to try it with a stencil. Thank you so much for sharing, I love your card!

  55. I need to go through my stencils to see if I have something that would work to watercolor. Your flower looks fabulous, Therese.

  56. Lovely, peaceful, calming, gorgeous…so many words to describe this stunning card! The tranquil colors, the beautiful flower…it all adds up to another amazing card! 🌸🦋🌷

  57. Oh Therese, this is so inspiring! I never would have dared watercoloring through a stencil, but now I will give it a try (without pixie spray or substitute). Thank you so much for this gorgeous card and inspiration. All the very best to you and yours.
    Caroline

  58. I’m glad you did this video as I’ve thought about watercolouring through a stencil but thought it would end up a blurred mess. This is a gorgeous result, so will probably try it.
