  1. Forgot to add in my comment on YT that I personally think critters are great for masculine cards if it’s humorous, which these are all definitely that! My wish list has definitely grown after seeing your video!

    1. Ohhhh what a fantastic set of cards perfect for men of course I love all the sentiments and animals used. The designs are all so CAS and just love them. More stamp sets too go on my list…

  2. Love these fun cards! I think dogs can be critters. The sentiments are just as good as the cute critters on these cards. Who could resist that fun cat with the sunnies?

  3. Brilliant! I always love your Take 5 with Penny Black. Earlier today I was re-watching some of the previous videos and they are all full of creativity. This one is even better (if that’s possible). The cards are all so well executed, with a sense of humour. I agree with the comment that they would be ideal for those difficult males in our lives that are so hard to craft for, but they are truly perfect for anyone who likes a little humour. These days, we all need it. The sad thing is I’ve lost my Penny Black stockist. Might now need to order direct from the US. Thank you Therese, you’re so inspiring.

  4. Omg, I love them all! And I feel like I need all of these stamp sets now! Great masculine cards. Thanks Therese!

  5. Therese these are all just fabulous!! LOve it when we can laugh about getting older… I mean others can laugh about getting older!! LOL
I also love it when you get those pencils out, my friend… outstanding!
    =]

  6. I always love, love, love your critter cards. I ‘may’ just have bought most of those critter stamps after seeing you use them, but the sentiment stamps are usually out of stock after you have posted a video!!! As always your cards are delightful and certainly put a smile on my face today. Thanks a bunch. Stay safe and well.

    1. Thanks so very much Mary, I am pretty sure I can’t be to blame for the sentiments running out of stock lol. but it’s a lovely thought. Hope that you are staying safe and well, Big Crafty hugs,Therese x ps these critters are just too cute!

      1. Hi Therese,
I am new to card making and not talented, or very creative, so tend to follow tutorials, or get inspiration from you tube and pintrest (yours are my favourites). I usually love one so much that I want to try to make one the same, or it may be perfect for a friend etc and I also often need other’s pictures for ideas on colouring/shading or colour schemes. I then usually get other ideas from there and make another totally different card. I only do craft for my own creative outlet and happiness and it is not very often. I do not have any blogs or business. I wanted to know if what I am doing is acceptable? Am I able to create cards from tutorials sometimes to give to my friends/relatives on their birthdays, I absolutely love yours and think your cards are awesome? I never pass anything on as my own, I always say verbally, that I have copied it from one I’ve seen on pintrest or you tube, unless it was my own ideas. A couple of work friends have actually asked me to make them cards, eg for a wedding etc, for a small payment or I just ask them to shout me a coffee but they are only ever from my own ideas. The cards that I copy off tutorials, should I write on the back who designed it and reference to where I saw it?

Ps, I love these male cards and thought I should clarify the above before I tried to make any of these.

      2. Hi Amanda, How exciting that you are making cards and also branching out and creating your own designs! We all have to begin somewhere and I started by doing exactly what you are doing… copying ideas from the internet and youtube, it’s a great way to learn to ‘design’ a card as well as what products you like and what colours work well together etc. I am happy for anyone to copy my ideas because that is why they are out there available for all to see. I don’t feel that I need to be mentioned unless you were planning on posting the card on social media then I would be grateful for that (but we all forget to sometimes and though direct copies are easy, it’s hard to know sometimes where the inspiration comes from lol.). Thank you for being so considerate and asking, would you believe I have actually seen my pictures of my cards used to advertise cheap ‘take offs’ of the original brands, and also an exact copy of one of my cards for sale in an etsy shop… I do not think that you need to write on the back of the card by whom you were inspired. And the more confidence you get the more you will branch out and find fun ways to use the products that you have in your own style and hopefully you will create a blog or pinterest page and link me in so that I can follow you and see your cards! I think most creators would be so happy to have you recreate their cards and link your version back to them so they can see how you are inspired by them, I know it makes me happy to see that someone was inpsired by what I have made! So a big thank you for your lovely comments and visit here today, I do hope I answered all your questions and didn’t babble on too much, just let me know if I missed any lol. Crafty hugs, Therese
ps do you live in Australia? I am going to have a supply purge soon if you are interested in some ‘older’ stuff (used but still in good condition)

      3. Thanks so much for your reply. No, you didn’t babble too much, I was actually worried that I may have too. I’m just glad you replied and I am stoked to be able to make your cards and be able to give them to people I care about. I don’t get too much time to craft but sometimes I manage to get on a roll. When I do, I will most definitely tag you with the ones I have made from your ideas. I will have to check out how to do it but I am on Pintrest and I follow you, so I will have a look.

Yes, I live in Australia, NSW Central Coast, and would definitely be interested in your supply purge! I discovered you via one of the Australian online craft stores. I think it was Scrapbook Boutique? I may have seen something I liked on there when buying a product, or saw something on Pintrest and it linked both yourself and the store. After that, I had a bit of a flick through your cards and tutorials to learn different techniques. I didn’t subscribe straight away, as I didn’t know what it all meant, or what to expect by doing so, plus you tube and pintrest were pretty much discovered by me not long after card making was…only a couple of years ago but I only get around to it once every few months, so I still class that as relatively new! Your Gimme 5 videos, are my favourites and I look forward to watching them when they come out.

Thanks so much for taking time out to reply.

      4. Thanks so much for your reply. I sent a reply but not sure if it went through, so I’m trying to remember what I wrote.
Yes, you answered all of my questions and you didn’t babble, I was worried I did too.
The next lot of cards I make from your videos, I will work out how to link to you. I am on Pintrest but have only saved things so far…lot’s of things… and think it’s a great idea to show our attempt or version of what someone else has made to the creator!

I was introduced to making cards about 2 years ago but only get the opportunity to do so every few months. I think I discovered you somehow linked with Scrapbook Boutique? I must have seen a card or technique when buying something or flicking through you tube or Pintrest. I didn’t subscribe straight away as I didn’t really understand how it worked, or what to expect if I subscribed to anything at the time. After seeing a few of your Gimme 5 cards, I later realised I didn’t want to miss seeing any of your upcoming Gimme 5 cards! They are my favourites.

And yes, I live in Australia, Central Coast NSW and I am absolutely interested in your upcoming purge!

Thanks for taking the time to reply and answer my questions. I am looking forward to having a go at these male critter cards!

      5. Hi Amanda, your reply did come through to me as ‘anonymous’ but I knew who it was lol. I live on the north coast of NSW so probably not too far from you I would say (in Australian terms)! Pinterest is one of my fave ways to remember things and find posts / recipes etc but you will only need to link (or even just write the name/blog of the person that inpsired) to the cards that you create and add yourself. It’s a rainy day here today and I am about to start creating another Gimme 5 so watch this space…. Good luck with the critter cards! Crafty hugs Tx

  7. Thanks for these ideas using some of my favorite Penny Black stamps! I love ideas using what I already own. Hugs from the USA. A big fan!!!

  8. I think critters are wonderful for masculine cards, (and yes dogs are critters IMO), Therese, but I don’t have many critter stamps. At least not many suitable for masculine cards. I love all of yours. They are so fun and beautifully designed.

  9. Why do you always make it look so easy to make clean and simple cards? When I attempt it, they come out boring. Love your critters! I like your technique with the InkTense pencils….I am too heavy handed and I will give a lighter touch a try. Thank you for the inspiration!

BTW– what are those pockets you store your stamp sets in? Do they accommodate the matching dies?
    thanks (in advance) 🙂

    1. Hi June, I have used these Marbig pockets for years and they are fabulous and a nice heavy weight plastic (I do need to cut down the packaging for the larger Altenew sets to fit in the pocket). Most sets will fit both the dies and stamps together but I find some of the die sets that are large I do tend to give them their own pocket as it’s easier. Here is a link to where I buy them (but the packaging looks different to the picture but it’s the same)

Hope this is helpful. Have a great and crafty day, Therese

  10. I just love watching you create and you are the best at bringing the life and joy out of these stamps! Thanks for sharing and your time in creating this video– you da best!

  11. What great masculine cards! I always enjoy your videos, too. Thank you for sharing your talent and creativity, it’s so appreciated!

  12. Therese, you make THE BEST critter cards! I adore all of these. Keep dithering on a favourite…

  13. Loved them all for men! Even the dog/critter made a “cool” statement. LOL

  14. Fabulous as ever, Therese … these are all fantastic masculine cards … both the images and the sentiments are so fun! Is the pooch a critter … IMO if you’re making the card and you want him to be, then he is! Sure looks like it to me! Favourite today … the dog on the bike … he’s so cute … and so deliciously minimalist! Hugs, Anita 🙂
