Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Anemone Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

I have an easy alcohol frontgound to share with you celebrating the new Artist Marker Refills being released at Altenew along with the Paint-A-Flower: Anemone and it is another beauty.  We are hopping along to celebrate the release so you should have arrived here from the SVITLANA’s amazing Blog!

I was told that acetate works really well with alcohol inks and I decided to give that a try today using the Artist Marker Refills.  And I needed to hide my acetate tape so created a frame using a Rounded Rectangles die.

  1. What a GREAT idea!! Always looking for different ways to use alcohol ink creations on a card. This is a wonderful idea, and I look forward to giving it a try. Recently I discovered something fun when I decided to use wax paper when playing with inks so that clean up was easy. At the end of my session I had all this ink on the wax paper and I had an idea: to spritz the paper with rubbing alcohol and swipe some yupo through it. YUMMY!!! Thanks for the idea, Theresa. Love the look.

  2. Oh my goodness, I think you have shown a technique winner! This idea is making my mind swirl with fun ideas. Thank you for providing your readers with wonderful content. Simply beautiful card.

  3. What a great idea to use the acetate. I finally gave up on alcohol inks as I could not get the inks to move around on the paper. I am going to give your idea a try and use the new iris stamp which is still sitting there waiting for me to use it for the first time.

  4. Your color work on acetate is amazing, Therese. So glad you shared this and the video on this blog hop. Stay well.

  5. I love this technique for creating a beautiful card from alcohol inks. Sometimes I have trouble using my alcohol backgrounds on a card even though I love the background. This is such a great idea and I’m sure to have some acetate around somewhere. If not I’ll get some! Lol! You rocked it!

  6. I recently got out all my alcohol inks to play with. After watching your video, I’ll play with some acetate also. Popping up your frame makes a big difference too.

  7. Love the acetate as the foreground and the stamped image as the background! You always come up with clever ways to put your cards together. Thanks for the video. I always get a lot out of them!

  40. So dang smart of you – what a great way to put together a card! I love the layers & can see many other creative ways to incorporate alcohol inked acetate with printed images, without any of the troubles that can come-up when trying to stamp & color with alcohol inks. And your use of white space is perfect – it gives the viewer just enough breathing space, so they can really take-in all of the elements and yet, truly enjoy the card as a whole. It’s really beautiful, one that I’ll remember for some time. Thank you so much!

  41. This is so creative and absolutely beautiful, Therese! Never tried this technique, but your video makes me think I need to try! Love how you framed out your card, too.

  45. OMG!! I love this idea!! I can color worth a hoot, but that is such a cool way to give the flower color without actually coloring it! I definitely have to give this a try!!

  46. Your videos are always such fun and so informative. Love your easy teaching manner. I never fail to learn at least one new thing from you; and today is no exception! Beside a new technique I have increased my vocabulary with the word “frontground.” I cannot wait to try this frontground technique – a fabulous twist and not expected. And echo your sentiment on Yeah for the refills, especially the colors you used. Looking forward to using this technique and purchasing these refills! Thanks for your efforts on this project.
