I have an easy alcohol frontgound to share with you celebrating the new Artist Marker Refills being released at Altenew along with the Paint-A-Flower: Anemone and it is another beauty. We are hopping along to celebrate the release so you should have arrived here from the SVITLANA’s amazing Blog!
I was told that acetate works really well with alcohol inks and I decided to give that a try today using the Artist Marker Refills. And I needed to hide my acetate tape so created a frame using a Rounded Rectangles die.
I used the Paint-A-Flower: Iris in my background
Then I added a sentiment from the Flowering Cistus Die Set and from Sentiment Strips 2.

What a GREAT idea!! Always looking for different ways to use alcohol ink creations on a card. This is a wonderful idea, and I look forward to giving it a try. Recently I discovered something fun when I decided to use wax paper when playing with inks so that clean up was easy. At the end of my session I had all this ink on the wax paper and I had an idea: to spritz the paper with rubbing alcohol and swipe some yupo through it. YUMMY!!! Thanks for the idea, Theresa. What a great idea to use the acetate. I finally gave up on alcohol inks as I could not get the inks to move around on the paper. I am going to give your idea a try and use the new iris stamp which is still sitting there waiting for me to use it for the first time.

I love this technique for creating a beautiful card from alcohol inks. Sometimes I have trouble using my alcohol backgrounds on a card even though I love the background. This is such a great idea and I’m sure to have some acetate around somewhere. If not I’ll get some! Lol! You rocked it!

Hi Helen, Because it was a larger area I used a heavier weight acetate but you could use regular acetate or even clear packaging would work fine. Crafty hugs Therese x
I love the vibrant colour over the black outline. This is a fantastic design idea to try. Leaving some of the acetate clear really makes this card special.

I love the layers & can see many other creative ways to incorporate alcohol inked acetate with printed images, without any of the troubles that can come-up when trying to stamp & color with alcohol inks. And your use of white space is perfect – it gives the viewer just enough breathing space, so they can really take-in all of the elements and yet, truly enjoy the card as a whole. It’s really beautiful, one that I’ll remember for some time. Thank you so much!
