Thanks so much Judith, it can be a real time saver for me especially if I have a few cards that I have deadlines for.
I do when I make a card for a specific occasion and for a specific person(s). If I am making a card to stretch my creativity muscles, I just wing it, use mistakes if I can or cover them with something and sometimes it is a much different card than I might have had if the mistake had not occurred. And often, a better card!! 😃
I so hear you, covering up a mistake (or what I like to call a ‘creative opportunity’) makes me think outside the box and often, I agree, the card is better for it! Thanks so much for stopping by today Tx

I am not creative enough to come up with my own ideas, so I take what you, and other artists, do and make something very similar with the things I have.
I love your clean and simple cards. Why is it that when I make CAS, they look so blah? Probably because you do such an awesome job of shading!

hahaha you totally made me laugh out loud! I started by using other’s ideas (and of course still do to this day, we all inspired each other), then one day I decided to try and work some of my own ideas out for myself being inspired by the stamp set and sometimes it went well and other times it didn’t… and still does lol. Thanks so much for your lovely visit here June. ps CAS cards can be the hardest and even though they look simple often they can take me the longest time to create.
I do both. Sometimes a sketch gives me a jumping off point and CASEing someone else may also give me a start too. But the wing it type card is probably the one I do the most as I like how something morphs as I work on it.

I love that bear and use him often. He looks great with the rainbow and the FUN letters. I don’t usually sketch but I have a ton of practice papers that I try my layouts on – sometimes stamping, sometimes just laying them on. I do have a book of sketched ideas that I can refer to when my Mojo is lacking.
Keeping a book is such a great idea, sometimes I will go to my Pinterest page and see what I’ve made before and follow a basic sketch if I’m not inspired. Hope you have the most fabulous weekend Bobby!
Thank you for sharing your video today. The bear is adorable and your card came out so adorable. No, I do not sketch before I begin to make the card. I put it in my mind, only problem is that something always comes up and by the time I get back to the card, my mind is blank. But no one has ever advised me to sketch. I think I shall try to do it. When I was into scrapbooking years ago, I would sketch a layout, but I’ve never sketched for a card. I like to watch videos, or look through Pinterest for ideas. This is a great card. I love that bear!
This is so cute! I’ve never made my own sketch but I do like to use sketches!
I have sketched but more often plan a card in my head for a while. It is 50/50 plan/no plan. But probably 50% of the planned ones take a detour on their journey! I sometimes wish I’d planned by the time I get to the end and other times it is a pleasant surprise!

This little guy is my favourite bear, Therese … he’s so sweet with that bold rainbow and that colourful, FUN sentiment! Yep, I use sketches … and have a sketch book … though my cards rarely turn out the way I started them … they … erm … evolve! So glad I made time to watch the video today! UM not really a sketcher more a CASer! so kinda the same thing! Although at times I do drag out themed stamps or things I want to use and lay them out before I start (usually for a requested themed card) so actually more a mix of casing and sketching. I have far too many unfinished bits about so love your plan of using things – gotta get onto that here when I get off the sewing machine projects!
