Altenew Build-A-Flower: Primrose Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

If you love the watercolour look and want an easy way to get this real quick, then the watercolour stamping I share in today’s video could be a great option for you!

It’s time for another Build-A-Flower release from Altenew and this one is the beautiful Primrose. Did you arrive here from NATHALIE’s incredible Blog? if you did, then you are in the right place!

I have had such fun recently with watercolour stamping (check out this video HERE) that I ‘needed’ to do it just one more time. The Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers are perfect for this technique and you could use any colours that you like.

The Apothecary Labels Set is getting a work out here at my house and I used this to frame the Signature Words Die sentiment.

And you may notice a few extra Jet Black Ink splatters too…

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

  1. Needless to say I absolutely adore this one. The colours are beautiful. I’m really going to have to force myself to try out this technique. I’m such a neat freak I find it difficult if the paint isn’t kept within the lines, but if I want to get this effect I’m going to have to have a go. You’re always an inspiration and always giving us new techniques to try. In addition to that you’re always so chirpy. I bet with you around, there’s never a dull moment. Stay safe my friend ❤️

  2. Love your messy watercoloring!! I love the apothecary labels too, I must check into that. Your card is fabulous, as always Therese. You always impress!!

  3. Your card is gorgeous! I love the colors and this loose watercolor stamping technique- I’ve got to give it a try!

  4. Love the colors you used and the messy watercolor look of your card. I tend to try to stay in the lines too as someone else mentioned, but think I should give this technique a try.

  5. I love the look of this technique and for those of us who are “wanna be watercolorists”, it’s a wonderful way to use the stamps and to create beautiful cards.

  6. I like the organic nature of the watercolor stamping. Which I will remember to try. I will.

  7. This is one of my favorite techniques and this stamp set is perfect for it. Love your card!!!!

  8. Love it Therese! This technique is fun and yields amazing results, thanks for the inspiration! Another fabulous BAF set!

  9. Very pretty, Therese. I wasn’t sure at first how that was going to turn out, but when you added the outlines it really pulled it altogether. I still haven’t tried the watercolor look myself. Maybe I should take the leap.

  10. Watercolour anything is my favourite! The colours you used on the flowers are two of the best combinations. Once you stamped the outline of the flowers on top it was like WOW! Such a difference that made. I always enjoy your videos Therese.

  11. Your ability to make lemons out of lemonade when making your card focals inspires me! And, of course, I love your work. Beautiful card!

  12. This technique along with the spatters was perfect for these stamps. I love that messy watercolour look.

  13. You’ve made me fall in love with the apothecary dies, too! Love this card!

  14. Love the water color technique you used. Guess I am have to buy the apothecary labels set.

  15. Like the water color technique, I will try, as I like water color and a newbie to the field. Also took note on the masking process to get the just right look in the ending. Really like the card and use of the set.

  16. I am completely in love with this card. Simple elegance. I enjoyed the tutorial, too. I haven’t gotten any of the watercolor brushes yet, but they are sooo on my list. TFS!

  17. Love your card! If I hadn’t seen the end result, I would have panicked half way through the video 🙂
I’m going to have to give this technique a try.

  18. Thanks for showing your technique. You made it look easy, and the results are so pretty.

  19. Pretty card! I really like the feel of this card- a bit modern? You are always so inspiring.

  20. Another splendid creation! Love the watercolor technique. Will certainly give this a try. TFS!

  21. That watercolour technique is so fun and appealing – and I love the colours you used. I love how that bold black apothecary label looks over the flowers.

  22. Love the one color stamping filled
in with the watercolors. The label
looks good on top of the flowers.
    thanks for sharing

  23. Nice card! I have never added a sentiment raised over the top of my image like that, I will have to try that. It was interesting. Thanks for the idea, your card is pretty!

  24. I thought at first that would have been a hot mess, but finishing with the outline stamp was genius! Thank you!

  25. Beautiful card, the loose water color look is a great pairing for the sketchy outline of these primroses. I LOVE this technique for a quick (and stress free) water color look! Thanks for another awesome video tutorial

  26. Great video on how to get the look. I like how quickly the color can be added. Great splatter addition.

  27. Awesome card! I so love that you incorporate the ‘whoopses’ in the video….so helpful and supportive to a beginning watercolorer lllike me!

  28. I watched your watercolor video and actually said YIKES outloud when you removed the solid stamp and left that splotch of blue. But after it dried and added the outline…..STUNNING! What a shocker! Going to try that! Thanks for the inspiration!

  29. I love the watercolour look you created and can’t wait to try it. Simply beautiful!

    1. I love the way you you used a watercolour technique, it looks like art! I can’t wait to try it!

  31. I love this technique and really need to use it more. A great way of “lazy” coloring and the end result is great.

  32. That card is gorgeous. I love that technique and can’t wait to try it. I love Altenew’s BAF sets, and even though I don’t have the beautiful Primrose (yet), surely I have another Altenew layering set I can use.

  33. Gosh, Therese, this is beautiful! I’d never have thought how gorgeous it’d turn out when you first started stamping the watercolour … what a wonderful artistic eye you have! Hugs, Anita 🙂
