Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Rose Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

Have you ever tried using just one layer of a floral die to create a design? What can I say, it really doesn’t get any more clean and simple than this!

It’s time for another Craft-A-Flower release from Altenew and this one is the beautiful Rose. Did you arrive here from KEISHA’s fabulous Blog? if you did, then you are in the right place!

I love Aga’s card designs and feel that this one was very inspired by her. With only one layer I decided to use design paper to create some added interest and the 12 X 12 Celebrate pack was the perfect choice.

Adding dimension to the flower also helped add some interest.

The sentiment is from the Holiday Tag Sentiments set which has so many non-holiday sayings to choose from too!

  1. What a beautiful CAS card. And what a cool look using the patterned paper for your single layer. Lovely!! And did I mention how much I LOVE that sentiment set?! Definitely on my wish list!!!

  2. This is absolutely stunning. Who would have thought that one piece could make such a beautiful impression. Loving this flower.

  3. This is simple and beautiful and of course a great way to use some of the patterned paper that we all have tucked away!

  4. How simple yet so elegant and stunning!! I love that you used patterned paper, it doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

  5. I never thought about using printed paper and only 1 layer to make a card, great idea, beautiful card

  6. When I saw the panel of examples, I knew this one would be yours. Such an outstanding, beautiful CAS design.

  7. Hi, Therese. Letting your patterned paper be the color in your flower is BRILLIANT! The subtilty the partial pattern and the pattern itself give just enough color and definition to see it is clearly a rose. Thank you for sharing.

  8. I LOVE this idea, Therese! What a unique, lovely card design and I LOVE how you utilized the designer paper…

  9. Using the one layer is unique and so effective. The choice of patterned paper was a great one!

  10. I really like the rose and leaves cut from patterned paper. A great use for paper that might otherwise not get used.

  11. Well how smart and creative are you! And just when I thought this was the easiest card in the world, you did bring up the issue of placement. Well, I like your placement, so now it is CAS and fast since you did the hard work LOL! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration. Now I need to buy that die set!

  12. What a great idea! I have several Altenew Create-A-Flower sets (I love them all) and never thought of using only one layer! I’ll definitely be trying this. I always learn something from you! Your card is gorgeous.

  13. Loved your idea of using patterned paper with a “part” of the die set. Your card turned out fantastic and inspiring. Thank you for your contribution!

  14. Your rose looks so interesting with the patterned paper! Such a simple and beautiful card; I love it!

  15. Super stunning! And, easy to make, too. I’m sold–this will be my next purchase. Thanks, Therese.
