Do you like to create your very own ‘punny’ sentiments? Today I have a video sharing how I mixed up stamp and die sets to do just that!

Today I am using the Chipmunk & Squirrel Stamp Set from Altenew and I thought it would be fun to create my own sentiments in a bold kind of way.
I started by getting out my die and stamp sets and choosing which ones would suit my sentiment and designs the best…. I didn’t realise just how many I have ‘collected’ (ahem) over the years (psss don’t tell my hubby)!
I also enjoyed using this Modern Circle Stencil in the background.
And don’t be afraid to cut up your sentiments like I did here with the Happy Birthday Die.
I did some almost ‘no-line’ colouring with my pencils today and kept to the same colour scheme on both card designs.
This time the background was stamped using the Halftone Circles Stamp Set.
And popping up the words added just a little something to these clean and simple (ish) cards.

Great colour combo! I love the mixed fonts and the graphic backgrounds. I like the fatter border that you chose best as it shows more of that fabulous stencilling.

You are the only one I’ve seen apply fun foam like this, so I am going to try your technique– what could go wrong, right? Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Hi June, This technique works well for me, especially with intricate die cuts. A couple of tips – use a manual die cutting machine (the electric ones like the Gemini put too much pressure on the foam) – you can also let the foam sit for a minute to uncompress – also allow a few minutes for the matte medium to dry before releasing the die cut (though don’t leave it too long as the edges can sometimes look crunchy… if you do this you will know what I mean lol) – and remove the centre bits of the die cut first so that when you release the whole thing you don’t have to fuss with it too much. I hope this works for you, I’ve been using this technique for years and find it much better than cutting multiple layers and joining them together (as that seems to take so very long). Wow, Therese! These have that graphic, fun bold look that are always a hit for masculine cards! Most of the men in my family are a little nutty, so I could see these coming in very handy! I love the colors and the mix of letters!
I’m late to the party, but I love everything about these two cards! it helps that orange/turquoise is one of my very favorite color combos, but these designs are also packed with so many good ideas. I’ve pinned them on my board for using small stamped images, because that’s something I struggle with.
