Same But Different Christmas Card Series 2020 – Poinsettias + Video!

Welcome to my Same But Different Christmas Card Series for 2020! I have a jam packed video for you today sharing SIX BeaUtiFul Poinsettia card ideas for your inspiration.

I started with 2 Big & Bold Flower ideas.
And the Altenew Poinsettia 3D Die did have to make the ‘cut’, isn’t it incredible!

The sentiment is from the Joyful Holiday Wishes set and I heat embossed this in gold which I think always adds a certain elegance.

Another ‘bold’ flower but this time it’s a stamped version. It’s the Christmas Poinsettia from Penny Black which I watercoloured with Brush Markers.

This beautiful sentiment comes from the Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia.

My next 2 cards feature Multiple Flowers.
I stamped a ‘few’ Holiday Bow Poinsettias and die cut them out as I wanted to pop them up over the front of the card.

This time I added an Apopthecary Label die cut with a sentiment from the Holiday Tag Sentiments Set.

I stamped a watercolour’y Scarlet Majesty for my next ‘multiple’ flower design.

And decided to add a simple bold senitment using the Jumbo Joy die.

Time for 2 Background designs.
Starting with an easy striped shimmer dauber background and a simple single image from the Holiday Bough set.

My gold sentiment is from the Seasonal Say It All stamp set, these can be coloured to suit any project!

My final background was created by repeat stamping the Festive Poinsettia stamp.

This sentiment was popped up on some fun foam and is from the Penny Black Merry and Joy die set.

  1. I’m still catching my breath from that gorgeous 1st card, Therese! You might be causing a little trouble – but it’s good trouble!! Every creation is breath-taken-ly beautiful!
I look forward to this same but different post each year – are you a bit early? Or is this year just coming to an end really quickly? [I for one can’t wait!] xo
    =]

    1. Oh Shucks you are so kind Michele x ps I think I started the same time last year, it felt like I needed to start earlier so people could use the inspiration for ‘this years’ cards as they are often sent out at the beginning of December (crossed fingers lol)

  2. I already have my my Christmas cards finished but I watch all your videos because I love to hear you talk

  3. I was so wrapped up watching your video over and over that I almost forgot to comment here. Really love all the cards, each one is so beautiful yet they are all so different. However, the first one is most definitely my favourite. It’s truly striking and as I have that die set I shall most certainly need to have a go at creating something similar using your amazing tips and techniques. Your use of colour today was truly creative and inspiring. I need to get myself off to bed now, but I shall be rewatching this again tomorrow, probably several more times. Bless you Therese ❤️

    1. hahaha thanks so much Delia, I am so happy that you enjoyed this video, there are still more to come so I hope I can keep on inspiring… the pressure is on lol!

  4. Beautiful cards as always Therese. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and being such an inspiration.

  5. First, how lovely to see your smiling face at the start of the video! That was such a treat. Secondly, thank you for the gorgeous inspiration! I had to get the Altenew Poinsettia die after seeing your stunning black and white one last month – it is on its way to me right now! Can’t wait to play. Cheers!

  6. Great to see you in person, Therese … what a wonderful way to introduce this year’s series! Your cards are fantastic … each one is a beauty in it’s own right. I do love how you create such coherence with the theme and colours … so creative … and inspiring. The ones that I was especially drawn to … … the second with the bold pinks and purples against the gold splattered black (it’s so dramatic!) … and the last with the simple, texture-y colouring and one of my most favourite sentiments … yum! Hugs, Anita 🙂

    1. Thank you so very much Anita! I was surprised how amazing the bright pink and purple worked together with the Poinsettias, it was a real fun colour combo to use!

  7. So funny to see your Christmas tee shirt- I guess the December weather is a little different “down under” than “up top”. We only have Christmas sweaters in Minnesota! (32°F= 0°C)

  8. hahaha yes it’s the beginning of Summer so things are quite hot around here and I have memories of growing up swimming in the pool at my cousins house on Christmas day!

  9. Just gorgeous as I said on insta. Love the pink ones for some reason I always colour mine red.
I started to grab out my Christmas stamps too! Might have to add a Poinsettia die to my wish list 😉

  10. Oh Therese these cards are simply beautiful and each one is so different. Love using poinsettia’s at Christmas time. Loved ‘seeing you’ too.

  11. Love this series, Therese. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without it. Not that I make any cards, lol, but I do love watching you create all these beauties. Thank our 😀

  12. Yay! I love your series! I really don’t know how you do all that you do and work full time, Therese! Each of these cards is amazing! I love the variety of coloring techniques you used and also such a wide variety of poinsettias!

  13. Such a lovely bunch of poinsettia cards. I do have to say, the first one might be my favorite. Hehe. Something about the hint of pinkish-red, black, and gold that I love so much.

  14. Fabulous, I most like the first and the striped rose gold background ones, the subtler ones. Not that crazy about poinsettias so I get them in white!
