Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Poppy Release Blog Hop & Giveaway + Video!

Today I have a video and share 5 easy Tips on how to use Altenew’s Craft-A-Flower Dies! But first did you know….

It’s time for another Craft-A-Flower release from Altenew and this one is the beautiful Poppy. Did you arrive here from DANA’s fabulous Blog? if you did, then you are in the right place!

I am loving using design paper to create my layered die cut flowers and this time I used the Reflection Paper Pad but you could add any that you have or for fun you could even splash a bit of watercolour around to create your own!

Altenew - Craft-A-Flower - Poppy - Simple Roses (card) 1 copy

I wanted some leaves on the background card itself and decided it would be quick and easy to use the Courageous You Simple Coloring Stencil to add these.

The sentiment is from the Simple Roses Stamp set which has such a sweet combo of fonts!

  1. Wow! Your card is gorgeous! I love how you used design paper to die cut the poppies, such a pretty look!

  2. Thank you for the tips. I’m definitely going to have to try the Altenew tape runner. I really enjoy your videos and your wonderful demeanor, not to mention your beautiful projects.

  3. Beautiful card! Thanks for the video, very informative and helpful. I use dot adhesive too, works best for me. I have the finger sponges and love the idea of a stencil background.

  4. Love the out of the box idea of using other paper to cut the floral layering. Your choice and final look was awesome. Always like your videos and helpful tips. Thanks.

  5. I love how you incorporated the patterned paper into the design, so beautiful! Love your videos, Therese. The view from the side was helpful, that’s a nice addition to the video style.

  6. Thanks for sharing these video tips! The look of the designed paper in a flower is WONDERFUL! It adds deeper, different color to the petals without the need for pencils or markers. The petals become rippled as a true poppy might and make each one individual as a snowflake!

  7. I never would have thought to use design paper to make the poppies. What a great idea! Love your card!

  8. I don’t know if you get tired of me saying this but wow!
This is a stunner of a card. I love this builder a flower series because these flowers are just stunning and they help me to make really pretty cards. Can’t wait to finish work and home to watch this video.
    Cheers
    Lisa

  9. Therese, putting stenciled leaves on the card base was genius, this card is absolutely phenomenal. Stunning, stunning, stunning… 🙂 The poppy die has a lot of pieces, so I am excited to see your tips.

  10. Thank you for the great tips in the video. I love that you used pattered paper for some of the layers!! Thanks for the inspiration!

  11. No, this is gorgeous!!!! I’m so you’ve started using patterned paper for projects like this. I have so much of it, and will definitely start using it with my Dies.

  12. Wow…never thought of using patterned paper…good idea…and the bigger leaves works out really well..

  13. Thanks for the inspiring and informative video. I like the way you used different colours and created unique flowers.

  14. I admit I was skeptical when I saw you laying out those dies on patterned paper, but those poppies turned out beautifully! And thanks for the tips. I struggle with coordinating cardstock colors when using my Craft-A-Flower sets and I never thought of using patterned paper. I do use the packaging for placement, and whenever I order a new set from Altenew I immediately go to the website for photos and inspiration.

  15. Fun to watch you making that lovely card! I like the idea of using those papers- adds interest to the petals. And very nice flower arranging.

  16. Well, you certainly captured the essence of that French wildflower meadow beautifully here, Therese … I know because we have them all around us! You Are Gorgeous is just the perfect sentiment for this lovely floral cluster … because it is! YUM! Hugs, Anita 🙂
