Do you watercolour? Today at my LIVE I share some tips if you are just starting your watercolour journey, otherwise just come along and join us for the fun chat!
I wanted to use Altenew’s Watercolor Coloring Book as I’ve only had a chance to colour one of these images so far, and I was excited to see how the Woodless Watercolor Pencils would work on the paper…..
And I decided to create 2 cards with this 5 X 7 panel….. I used the A2 Layers Dies from Waffle Flower Crafts.
I added a Mondo Sakura sentiment using the co-ordinating dies and stamp set.
You may notice just a ‘few’Jet Black Ink splatters…. I was encouraged to lol.
My second design uses a sentiment from Altenew’s Fancy Greetings Stamp Set.
I loved colouring with these pencils and the new Round Brushes were quite nice to use too!

You can certainly achieve the same look with watercolours or brush markers if you have them Helen. Glad you liked the cards!

I’d love to see a video on the Altenew (I think they’re called vintage floral) layering floral stencils and how the end product looks. I think you can use them with or without the stamps. Have you made a video using these products? If not, I hope you might in the future. I love easy cards that make me look like I’m talented!! 🤣

Both cards are absolutely beautiful. I received my wordless pencils last week and my colouring book yesterday, so I’m keen to try them out.

The flowers are beautiful – you have a good touch with watercolor pencils for sure, and your color choices are spot on. I love the black ink spatters! They enhance the beauty of the cards.

I am a bit late watching the video but wanted to watch the whole thing at one time. I usually groan inwardly when I see a great card and see that it is watercolored. I love the look and watch videos but they don’t help me get any further. Your video today walked us through the whole process slowly and calmly and actually made it seem like an enjoyable process. The black pencil touches at the end just make the card! Wonderful cards and a big thanks for your patient teaching methods. I am going to get out my Distress inks and give it a try again.
Oh yes Linda, the Distress inks are a great way to practice watercolouring, if you don’t have confidence why not stamp out just one flower (or small bouquet) and try it out. It is even better if you have coloured it before in a medium that you know. Hope you have fun with it because that is why we are here after all lol. Hugs Tx
