Slimline FUN with the Beautiful Mondo Hydrangea! – LIVE Video!

Have you tried ‘Slimline’ Cards yet? I have started making a few and love the fun challenges it has in designing a card!

I had a request from Martha (thank you very much) to share some ideas on how to use slimline products on cards and these Nesting Slim Rectangles Dies from Altenew are a great place to start.

And you don’t ‘need’ large stamps either, I used the Mondo Hydrangea for both my designs but any of the Mondo flowers would work perfectly.

I stamped the flowers in Morning Mist and did some very ‘splashy’ easy watercolouring with my Distress Inks today.

This sentiment from Succulent Sentiments fitted perfectly in the Nesting Die!

And this ‘thank you’ sentiment is from That Thing You Did and die cut with the Featured Sentiments Die which is finally back in stock Yay!

You can see my LIVE video here or watch it in HD at YouTube.

I hope you were inspired to try some Slimline card designs! I don’t have a date for my next LIVE as I am going to be in Victoria to help my father when he gets home from surgery, but I will let you know as soon as I have a date for the next LIVE! Looking forward to having some more fun then! Big Crafty Hugs,

  1. If I may speak for your entire audience, you nailed the slimline designs, Therese!! Both so pretty – LOve the splash-y smooshed colored one so much!
    =]

  2. Lovely colours. I like the loose watercoloured look. Hope it goes well with your Dad.

  3. Stunning! Love those colours and the 2 techniques! Sentiments can be so hard to decide!! I hope all goes well for your Dad’s op. ! 🙂 Safe travels. Take care. x

    1. Thank you Helen, you noticed that I did struggle with the sentiments …. if only I had a couple more hours they would have been perfect lol.

  4. Simply gorgeous watercolor cards today Therese! Just the style I like to see and make. Thank you for making a couple of slimline cards for me. I went on line and bought the Mondo Hydrangea right away before it sold out! LOL I already had the Mondo Sakura from years ago. I pray you are able to be with your Dad for his knee surgery and that he is a good boy and does the physical therapy. I have had 6 major joints implanted over 8 yrs time because the cartilage just disappeared between the bones making my shoulders, hips, and knees painful and not able to function. I could not even reach my head to wash my hair. Now at 79, I do stairs slowly and holding on to rails, am functional here at home but no runner and uneven ground is not good.. I am thankful for what I have, that my mind is good, my hearing is good and I still cook for myself and hubby and love card making.. Give your dad my best wishes for his full recovery. I look forward to future slimeline cards from you . Lots of companies are bringing out nice dies for them. Lots on eBay too. Some make elaborate scenes with animals etc. Hope your rain slows down. Thanks for taking the time to do videos for us. It is fun to go to Australia for a card class from you. Sending a big hug and Thank You from MN, USA.

    1. So very happy that you enjoyed these cards Martha, I adore ALL the Mondo flowers, they really are ‘classic’ images that last the test of time, especially that Sakura (it’s often sold out lol). You certainly have had your fair share of surgery, maybe you could give my Dad a few tips of the trade… his surgery did go well (though they had to replace his knee cap as well which I have never heard of) but he is up and about and the PT says his is already doing better than they thought. Thank you for your lovely visit here today and for the fabulous ideas for my LIVEs, it really helps me to know what people want to see. Big Crafty hugs, Therese x ps Yes, the critter scenes on slimline are wonderful!

  5. Awesome live! Sorry I missed it (again!). Fab cards. I’ve made a few in the past as you mentioned to fit a DL envelope. I often get my envelopes from Envelope Solutions here in Melbourne not sure which way the slim line ones open you could always ask them.

Hope your Dad’s op goes well. Happy to pop the kettle on 😉

    1. I buy mine from Envelope Solutions too, they are fabulous! Dad’s surgery is done and now the physios are torturing him lol. and he’s already up and about which is great! hugs Tx

  6. Gorgeous slimlines, Therese … the smooshy/loose watercolour look you created is simply yummy! I so relate when you choose sentiments … same here … I never include one in my design and then need to find one to fit just right. Maybe that’s ‘organic’ design … my excuse! Colour combo ideas would be brilliant when you get the chance … a little breathing first would probably be good though! Do hope your Dad is recovering well … and that he’ll be dancing on tables in no time! Hugs, Anita 🙂
