Do you like the change up the way you add colour? Today I used watercolour and blending techniques to add colour, they are both easy and fun to do!
But first, this post is part of a Hop celebrating a new release from Altenew so you should have arrived here from the MARYAM’s wonderful Blog.
I started today with a washy watercolour background which I created very quickly with the Artists’ Watercolor Pan Set.
I then stamped the bouquet Simply Spring with Obsidian Ink .
And added a Featured Sentiments negative space die sentiment from the Ornamental Bliss Stamp Set.
Aren’t these Dovetail Butterflies beautiful! I did change up the colour because I was feeling in an orange mood lol.
This card has a lot of ink blending, both on the butterfly and the Bitterroot Flower Layering Stencil Set in the background.
And finally, I added a simple sentiment from the Wispy Begonia Stamp Set.

The watercolour of the first card is so beautiful and I like that inset sentiment idea. The grey flowers work so well to highlight the second butterfly.
