How do you choose which stamp set to buy? Can you look at a set and see multiple possibilites? Today I share
5 different ideas using the one stamp set. It’s called Jar Full of Joy and it’s from the new Catherine Pooler Designs release.
But first, did you see my first video from my 2023 Same But Different Christmas Card Series? If you love a Critter Christmas Cards then make sure you check it out RIGHT HERE, there are 5 more ideas for you to try!
Here’s a peek at today’s cards!

The reason I chose this stamp set was because I could ‘see’ multiple designs immediately. That’s when I feel like I know it’s going to be a great set. But, it’s when I started digging deeper and really looking at what individual stamps and dies were included, that I got even more excited. So, I had to start with the most obvious of designs…
Idea #1 – As Intended
To use the stamp set as intended. The jar is the focal point of the set and because of its large size, it easily becomes the centrepiece of a card design. So, it was just a matter of choosing which lollies or sweets I wanted to use to fill my jar. And I decided to made some pink snowman marshmallows, which was a brilliant idea I couldn’t get out of my head from Erika lol!
I couldn’t decide where to put the sentiment so I created a label for the jar instead. I used the Holiday One Liner Sentiments Set and layered it with circles.
Idea #2 – Snowman
But, it’s the other stamps in the set that make it even more exciting. All the jar ‘filling’ stamps are what allows this set to really ‘sstrreeetttccchhh’. I used the solid circle stamps to make my ‘snowman’ (acutally it’s a ‘snow-woman’ but who’s being picky)!
I added a piece of the Cookies & Milk Patterned Paper onto a square card front… can you see how my card colours were inspired today?
BONUS IDEA: Why not use the circles and layering pattern stamp to make baubles for a card!
Idea #3 – Ceramic Jar
How about using the coordinating die without the stamp? I die cut some Ivory cardstock with the jar and lid and added a ‘blue’ pattern using the Piping Practice and the pattern circle from the Jar Full of Joy Set. You can add any pattern you like, but the key is to add a little shading with a pencil to give your solid jar some dimension.
I think the ink On the Lake was a great colour choice to decorate my ivory jar. But, did you see that I also stretched the circle dies here too. I decided to make some cookies, I added the star stamps to the die cuts and coloured them with Prismacolor Pencils.
TIP: If you own some ‘cookie’ stamps it may be easier to use ones that you may have on hand… or you could even create shaped cookies by cutting out the star shapes that are in the set too.
Idea #4 – Create a Wreath
When I see foliage I always see a wreath and today was no exception. But, I also decided to create my own berries using the small circle stamp here. I added a tiny die cut circle to make it into a berry, but you could also use a white gel pen if you prefer.
I created layers by stamping directly onto the card and layering the die cut images overtop. And can you see the added sparkle, that would from be the coordinating Patagonia Sequins.
PRO TIP: Mask and stamp the ribbon from the set to create a bow for your designs.
BONUS – Bokeh Background
With all these circles floating around today I just had to create a ‘bokeh’ background. This was very quick and easy to do. Plus it has the added bonus of being a one layer card, which makes it easy and more affordable to post.
But, there is a coordinating die for the sentiment, which means you also have the option to pop it up on the card front if you prefer.
I hope this inspires you to look at the stamps you have in your stash and ‘stretch’ them, or even take a deeper look into the stamps that you are considering to purchase to see if they offer more options for creating. This stamp set is a perfect example to share, showing just how far you can go!
I encourage you to also use what you have and adapt these simple designs and ideas to suit your style. And, if you are inspired I’d love you to share your designs with me on Social Media. Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.
