It’s hard not to be inspired by someone as amazing as Charley Harper, his style and colour combinations are incredible and I just had to make my very own ‘Harper’ esque bird. My card had to be CAS as I wanted the bird as the focal point but I know that I will not be able to stop at creating just one of these…

I would like to share this card with the Anything Goes Birthday Challenge at Hero Arts, the exciting new CAS-ual Friday’s Shades of Gray and Anything Goes with Pearls at Simon Says Stamp.
Thanks for stopping by, I’ll be back real soon!
Other Supplies: Sakura – Clear Star pen.
OMG Your bird is So cute and I Don’t even know who CHarlie Parker is!
You are so clever, Therese! I really love how you created this fun card…Love the color combo and your background, too!
I must admit I had to google Charley Harper to find out who he was – but now that I have seen some of his work – you have certainly captured his style in your fun card. Great watercolour background too.
Oh that bird is too cute! Thanks for sharing him with us at the CAS-ual Fridays challenge!
FABULOUS!!!
I love the bird and the soft colorwash. Was the bird created using circles?
Thanks for your lovely comment.
The bird was so simple to create, just a pencil outline and then I freehand cut the shapes, but it could just as easily be done with dies if you had them.
Have a great day!

In another life I made several small cross stitch designs in his oh-so-timeless style. They are hanging in a group in my hall as I type…I have never seen any other reference to his work until your card popped into view.

I’m a HUGE fan of Charlie Harper and your little bird is just precious! I just love it! I made my own “Charlie Harper” card way back when I did not even have a blog : http://www.flickr.com/photos/64277010@N07/6782115979/in/photostream
I remember seeing it and just loving your card, this is definitely one of my fave birds of his!
