I am so excited to announce my new regular feature video with Altenew, it’s called Take 2 with Therese! This means that you get to see not one, but two cards in my videos. And each video will either focus on a particular theme, technique, colour combo, set of stamps anything that makes me and you happy.
Today I am kicking it off with a focus on the Altenew Watercolors. Both the Watercolor Palette and the Watercolor Brush Markers (Spring Garden Set) were released this year and I thought it would be fun to colour up some flowers and compare.
I used the beautiful flowers from the Always There Stamp Set and coloured them with similar colours to make comparison easier.
I used the Celebrations Paper Pack design paper on both of the card fronts.
Then the sentiments came from Magnolias for Her
and Garden Hydrangea.
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

I enjoy your You Tube channel very much. It’s informative, and your craftsmanship is awesome. I love your stories. And your voice is very calming. I like you blog because it helps my catch things I miss in your videos. Thank you for sharing your artistry with us. 💕
Love your videos.
Congratulations Therese on your new adventure. I am truly inspired by this card design. I don’t think I’ve ever had flowers in the background that we’re not colored, so that’s new to me. I looking forward to seeing more of your take 2 videos.
That’s a nice idea of Take 2 🙂 I love the flowers and how the backgrounds make a lot of difference!! Beautiful cards 🙂
So beautiful! I love the woodgrain in the background.
You make the process look so easy! Love watching your videos!
The background designer’s paper makes a huge difference in the look of the cards. Both are beautiful but I lean toward the polka dot version. Thank you for the instructions. I appreciate your talents and the calm way you inform us. Well done! I look forward to more Take 2.
Both of your cards are gorgeous Therese! I am vey excited to see more of your new ‘Take Two’ with Altenew, I always really enjoy your videos and it is a fantastic way to learn new techniques etc… It was very interesting seeing the 2 different watercolour methods, I prefer working with the Altenew watercolour brush pens as well but really I just need to practise with the Altenew pallet.
Two beautiful cards, similar but different. I have to agree the pen colours are just that bit more vibrant and I love the stamping direct to the card base and leaving it uncoloured. Stunning.
I love the idea of using patterned paper and stamping on it to include with the main design. I hardly ever using PP these days but might have to try this out because it looks amazing!!
Congrats on this new series! Your cards are lovely. Love how just changing the
BG paper can give you a whole different look.
Looking forward to seeing more cards and videos from you! You can use any Altenew product in your videos – washi, sprays, dies. I love it all! Congrats!
Loved watching you create with 2 different mediums. Both beautifully coloured. Exciting news that we get to see more from you with your new featured articles. Thanks for the inspiration Therese.
lovely cards as always, and an appearance from your cat!
As always, beautiful cards! Love your new Take 2 video.
Thanks for sharing…
Pretty card. The wood grain in gray helps the flowers to pop. The brush markers look easy to use–even for a non-artist like me!
Both cards are gorgeous, but I am partial to the polka dot one. That washi tape really makes a great instant background. Enjoyed the video.
Clever girl!!!! Love the look of both cards – TFS!!!
Paper Hugs,
Jan
I love both cards! I really love the polka dots — they’re always so fun! Beautiful coloring Therese! Thanks for sharing them.
It was great to see the comparison of the 2 mediums. I love the extra stamping on the spotty paper. What about comparing inking a stencil with putting paste through it? Positive and negative diecuts? Colouring the flowers or colouring the background and not the flowers?
Some great ideas, thanks so much Christine!
Beautiful cards! Am going to try making some cards with unpainted flowers in the background. I really like this technique! Your video is very good and your voice was made for videos! Thanks for sharing your talent!
Ohh!! What a gorgeous cards Therese, colored in my most favorite shades of purple, just stunning.
You make the coloring with these markers look so effortless, the blending is just amazing.
The stamped flowers in the background really make the colored ones stand out beautifully.
Love both cards but the one with the polka dots is my favorite.
Thank you so much for sharing.
XO
Maria.
How exciting! Congratulations on being a featured artist on Altenew! The cards in this video are beautiful!
I have been following your for a very long time Therese and you never disappoint. I love your ideas, you are so talented xx
I have been following your for a long time Therese and you never disappoint. I love your ideas, they are so different x
Congratulations on another fabulous adventure with Altenew, Therese! These are both beautiful … love how the outline stamping direct onto the pp makes these bouquets so airy and delicate. Your colouring is gorgeous, of course … so interesting to see the subtle differences between the watercolour pans and the pens … I too see a little more vibrancy in the pen colouring, though they’re both delicious! How about a blended background compared with, say, a watercoloured one … or marking the changing seasons using different colour palettes … bet you already have an enormously long list of Take Two ideas! Hugs, Anita 🙂
So pretty, Therese! Congrats on you feature with Altenew! Yay! 🙂
I love the take two videos and I’m super excited to take your latest class at Altenew! I adore everything you create and I’m always happy to see when you’ve posted a new video! Thanks for all you do!
I have never used water color brush markers..only regular water color paints. I found your video interesting and also that these markers are more vibrant than the reg paints. Think I’ll have to get some next time to the store. Thank you so much. Glad I viewed your
I have just found one of your videos on Pinterest so have signed up for your blog. Your work looks lovely.
It’s good to see Australian designers work.
I wonder which gorgeous beach you live on. Do you hold any classes?
I love Altenew products and have 4or5 sets. Time to play with them is the hardest thing though! I have 8 grandchildren, and am very lucky to be a big part of their lives!!
Keep up the good work Therese.
