Almost no stamping today…. it’s unheard of around here lol. But I did have lots of fun die cutting and playing with some bright colours! But
before we start did you know that I have a series of videos with Altenew called Take 2 With Therese, if you want more inspiration you can check them out right HERE.
Today I have a die focus for Altenew and I am showcasing the Garden Trellis Cover Die.

I began with an inlay technique where I created a ‘rainbow’ of colour where the Garden Trellis die was the main focus of the card.

I added a Hello and Hugs die cut sentiment

As well as a Sentiments Strips 2 ‘What’s Up?’, which I thought was fun!

My second design was fun to create, I added colour to acetate die cuts using the Artist Marker Refills.

This time the trellis is added as a subtle background behind the beautiful Open Bloom 3D die flower.

I also added a Signature Words Die ‘hello’ because when you don’t know which way to go, I figure you can’t go wrong with this sentimental die set lol.

You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at YouTube.

Do you like to use Cover Dies? I personally love them as a subtle background, maybe tone on tone….. that would be one of my fave ways. Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope yours is fabulous! Hugs,

Oh yes, I do love cover dies, Therese! I also love it when YOU COVER what fun they can be!
Off to watch the magic happen… xx

Thanks so much Michele!
You were clever to add the extra trellis layers after the inlay. The acetate looks fabulous, I’m sure it must be even better in real life. The alcohol ink adds a lot of interest to the floral layers. Mixing up the acetate and cardstock layers is a good idea too.
Thanks so much Christine, it took a little patience but totally worth it lol.
Gorgeous cards Therese
Oh my. Another inspiring set of cards. LOVE the rich dark colors.
So many useful tips here Therese! I do love cover dies, and really appreciate the ways to use them that you’ve shown in this video – your creativity is unbounded! And those colours – really beautiful!
Thank you so very much Ann, you are so sweet Tx
Beautiful!!!
I have made a few cards with layered dies with acetate, but I found although they looked ok, they seemed a bit washed out especially when I mixed it with colour paper, you really couldn’t see the layer. But with using the alcoholic ink! WOW! what beautiful results! I can not express how much I LOVE LOVE this look. I actually don’t know any alcohol inks or makers, but after seeing this I am going to have to get some! This card is just too amazing! And I so enjoyed your video. You have so much patients, placing all those tiny squares, and then cutting them out of the acetate!
So happy to hear that you liked the idea Annette, hope you have fun with it!
In a word…. TREMENDOUS! Thank you 🙂
Goodness, the sence of texture, dimension and depth on that amazing bloom are gorgeous, Therese … the coloured acetate elements both on the flower and in the background add such a dreamy look! Love the inlaid trellis … such a cool colour palette and deliciously graphic … puts me in mind of roman mosaics! Cover dies … I so enjoy seeing them used, though rarely add them myself … maybe it’s the CAS streak in me! Hugs, Anita 🙂
