YELL OUT ‘Sparkle’ if you agree that Christmas cards should have ‘Sparkle, Shimmer & Shine’!! Today I’d thought I’d go out with a bang, I have some fabulous Penny Black images and Critters…. what better way to Shine !
Welcome back, I have a Gimme 5 video (with a BONUS project!) featuring Penny Black, if you haven’t been here before this is a video series where I create 5 Same but Different cards, check out my previous videos right HERE!
I am starting with one of the ‘easiest’ ways to add sparkle and that is rhinestones. I think they are the perfect addition to any Christmas tree, including this one from Jolly Good Times.
And I used one of my fave ‘tree’ sentiments which is from the Gather Around Stamp Set.
This Fairy Festive was wanting a bit of shine added to her wings so I used a clear Shimmer Pen.
It’s hard to catch that shine on camera, but I promise it is there!
The sentiment for this card is from the Merry Builder Stamp Set, I do love the combo of fonts and sentiments in this mini set.
Time for some Glitter Cardstock Jumbo Joy and a cute little hedgie from Deck the Halls.
and this time a gorgeous sentiment from Love & Peace.
Now it becomes scary, the loose glitter is out for my Prisma Glitter Background which made this Snowflake Pattern literally shine!
I added a sweet fox from Snowfield Friends and the sentiment is from Holiday Snippets.
Next it’s time for some Glitter Embossing and I thought this Slothmas! needed a little sparkle lol.

I created my own embossing glitter with this set here, but there are also plenty of premade glitter embossing powders available.
Now for my BONUS project, I coudn’t create this series without making a Glitter Shaker and I decided to use the Do Not Open die set to create a shaker tag!
I have added an elf from the Sing Joy! stamp set and I was saved again with a sweet sentiment from Holiday Snippets.

I thought I would finish up my series this year in a cloud of ‘Glitter’ and I hope that you are inspired to try adding just a little sparkle to your Christmas card designs. If you are I’d love you to tag me so I can see your creations!

The Hedgie card is my favorite but they are all adorable. I contend that Penny Black has some of the cutest critters and characters of all. I love their sentiment stamps as well and the two “oldies but goodies” you mentioned today are my go-to sets from them, but I intend to check out new ones this year. I tend to leave glitter alone because it is so unruly in my craft room, but maybe I’ll be brave and use it on a few cards this year. Thanks for the inspiration and the tips!
Oh yes, ‘unruly’ is a good term for glitter, but the clean up cloth is definitely a great help! You could definitely use any of your PB stamps for these ideas, thanks so much Barbara!
