Have you ever tried the ‘Split 4 Technique’? No, I hadn’t either until today and I had such a fun time creating with you at my LIVE!
I was inspired today by my wonderful friend Michele and her card right HERE. I did keep to a similar style to her and used the Fabulous Florets from Altenew. Here is my ‘A4 Sheet’ stamped out’.

and the final cards….

I chose big bold sentiments starting with one from Altenew’s Simply the Best Set.

Followed by a die cut embossed ‘thank you’ from Ellen Hutson’s That Thing You Did.

Then another, this time from Totally Random Sayings Vol 2.

And finally a die cut Bold Greetings from Altenew and sub sentiment from Nice of You.

You can see my LIVE video here or watch it in HD at YouTube.
My apologies if you can’t see the LIVE CHAT in this video but there was a little hiccough with the technical side of things today and I thought it would be still fun to share the video (even though it started 30 minutes early), so I’ve added time stamps to the base of the video and linked in the description below so you can proceed directly to the section of the video you want! Hope this helps!
If you want to join me for my next LIVE use THIS LINK on Thursday February 25th at 8am (Brisbane AEST time). Looking forward to having some more fun then! If you do try this technique I would love you to tag me so I can see what you create. Big Crafty Hugs

Other Supplies: Prismacolor Pencils to fix the stamping lol.

Wow, Therese! Girl, you are a rock star! These are fabulous! 💜
so happy that you liked them Marisela!
Brilliant idea, Therese! Perfect for a gift set! 🙂
I totally agree, and if you give a variety of sentiments with the gift set then they can be custom made for the occasion too.
Heading over next to watch the video. Fabulous cards, I’ve never tried this technique, though I’ve a girlfriend who swears by it.
Cheers
Lisa
It was such fun to do and we were also talking about other ‘stamps’ that could be used, it really is unlimited!
I watched the whole video yesterday AND I loved it.
Beautiful cards and the colors are gorgeous♥
Oh you are sooo sweet! Even the half hour of talking because the video started early lol. You really are one of my faves!
Since I was late to the party, I watched the replay this morning – then wished I HADN’T heard about the spiders!!! Looked those Huntsman spiders up …. 100s of babies?? where is their MOTHER???? Seriously!
LOL I loved your LIVE, Therese – see you again in two weeks! So fun, and gorgeous cards!
=]
hahaha at least these baby spiders were very small…. and so far we haven’t seen any since (but I’ll let you know lol). they are not very pretty are they?
Fun yesterday. You got such vivid colors from single stampings of the Altenew dye inks, and I liked the way the outlines brought the flowers to life. Your python story was an added bonus!
My local senior center has been doing a monthly video card workshop. Many of the attendees are new to paper crafting, and some don’t even stamp or diecut. The two hosts did the Split 4 technique in January. One of them stamped her panel, and the other used glue-on flowers. I think she had fussy-cut them from patterned paper, but I don’t remember exactly.
They asked us to try the technique and send them photos, which I did. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, so as not to overwhelm the newbies. I stamped snowflakes in shades of blue and silver, and embellished with sequins, stamped sentiments or sentiment banners, and, on one card, silver ribbon. I’d post photos here, but I can’t figure out how to do it on my iPad, where I have the photos.
Oh…I just watched the beginning of the video, that I had missed, and I see that most of your inks are from Catherine Pooler. They are the vivid ones!
How wonderful Sandy! I agree it’s such a fun and versatile technique, I don’t think I would be game to try the glued on flowers but I was thinking that a die cut ‘flat’ flower version would be great. Though I do love your idea of snowflakes, I bet your cards were beautiful…. maybe you could email them or share through Pinterest or Instagram and tag me (which you do by adding this @lostinpaper) if it’s not too difficult. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Great job. The cards are beautiful. I love how you can do a background so well.
It’s such a fun technique I agree Karen!
So pretty! Love this one-sheet-wonder! I haven’t done it for so long! Thanks for the inspiration!
Ooh is that another name for it Monika, how wonderful and thanks for letting me know!
Hello! I went to work, so missed your live, but the replay was fun. I finally realized you cannot hear me when I reply to your questions. Duh. Anyway, here are my thoughts: I HATE spiders, now I am itchy all over. I HATE pythons, so I would rather have the -12F (-24C) and snow. LOVE these colors and this technique. BRILLIANT! Definitely perfect for a card set. Interesting ink comparison. I just want all the inks, in every color now. Looks like I’ll be working overtime to feed my crafting habit! Cheers!
I am working full time to ‘feed’ my crafting habit… overtime sounds even harder lol. I tell my husband all the time he would be much happier if I could just sit at home and craft all day (wink). Ps spiders and snakes aren’t my fave either…. thanks so much for joining me on the replay June!!
Bit late for me to watch live, Therese (already tucked up in bed when you start!), but what a joy to see you, watch your creative process and hear some of the chat from everyone here. Gorgeous cards … so you … vibrant, bold, elegant … and popping with colour! Tried Split 4 after seeing Marcia use it … where you used solid stamps, I used outline images with coloured ink … they turned out all light and airy. I’d show you, but they’re not posted yet … they will be one of these days! With the new wordpress, it takes me longer to do a post than it does to make a card (tee hee!)! Thanks for the lovely interlude on a frosty Saturday morning! Hugs, Anita 🙂
It took me a little while to get used to the new wordpress but now I find it easier… there is only a couple of things I miss off the old one but overall it’s a much better platform. If I can help in any way please let me know.
Thanks so much, Therese … good to know it’s going to get easier … and great to think I can tap your brains about it if it all becomes too much! A 🙂
These cards are great … I loved the colours you used!
Yes, the bright colours make me very happy!
I played along on the live and stamped with you. I did end up making the 4 cards but when I cut the page apart, the layout was really disjointed. I went back and looked at how you had placed all the large flowers and will do better next time. Had a blast though and this technique is one I’ll be using again. Those 4 cards came together quickly.
How wonderful Maxine!! I kinda looked at how Michele had done hers, though mine was different as well… The great thing is that you can always come back in after you make the cut and add some more flowers, I think I was just lucky lol.
So very fun! I haven’t done this. What a great way to get a lovely bunch of cards.
I had a blast with this Lisa, I know you’d have fun too!
Great live.
Love making my own pattern paper – I haven’t for a while though. Love making 4 cards at a time – sounds like a very efficient way to go! I am thinking which stamps I have and colours right now! And as I have a few days off work thanks to Dan I should be able to get this done!
Let’s hope the python doesn’t come back. My family, except me, love pythons. Hubby actually has one in his office at work. As for huntsmen they are a problem here to and my youngest often has them residing in her room. The last time that happened not to long ago she slept with one of her sisters.
Yes, I may have slept with my sister too…. trouble was that we were in the same room lol I think Dan and Anna must be friends…
