Have I tried one of the techniques that you guessed yet? Maybe, today is the day, is this where you thought I would go?

I love stencils (they are so affordable) so I thought I would give you 4 technique ideas over the next few weeks to stretch your stencils. Did you see my first idea HERE, and what about stretching the tone on tone concept HERE. I have been inspired by the new release from Ellen Hutson, and my birthday card stash is growing strong!

And here it is, the star of the show, the ‘Sprinkles’ Stencil set!

Stencil Idea #3 – Heat Embossing!

I could have used any of the 4 stencils but I chose to use one of the ‘dotted’ stencils to give a ‘snowy’ feel to my background. I started with a piece of Aqua Sky cardstock, layed the stencil overtop, and added the Embossing Dabber, then some Opaque White embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool… watching embossing powder melting never gets old (who’s with me on this?)!

I added a ‘tree line’ of Essential Triangles, and I think these would have looked great in white cardstock, but I was feeling in a colourful mood.

PRO TIP: Wouldn’t this be a great stencil technique to use for Holiday card designs!

And I have to say this HB2U Combo is fast becoming one of my fave sentiment sets from Ellen Hutson… but sssh, don’t tell Casual Greetings 😉!
