#STAMPING&FOILING
Did you know that you can foil a stamped image? This is a game changer and opens up a whole nother world of uses for Toner Foiling. But before you get your laminator out I have a few tips to share…
My Quick Tips!
- Use a cardstock that foils ‘well’, I used Hammermill today, but the Crafty Critta cardstock is fantastic (but if you want to colour on it, blending works best).
- Choose a stamp without too many details (or too many fine details). A fine line stamp works well as once it is heated the outline becomes larger and almost has a ‘rustic’ feel.
- DO NOT use a powder tool before embossing as foil does not play well with dust.
- Use an embossing ink and heat emboss with your choice of powder. Today I used clear embossing powder.
- Run the image through your laminator with your choice of Toner Foil (pretty side up), wait for it to cool before removing the release paper.
- DON”T throw away the release paper, if you have coloured toner sheets you can use the ‘left overs’ to make a second card using the negative image.
- Not having a great foiled results? If you have a regular laminator make sure to turn it on approximately 30 minutes before you use it. If you can turn up the heat, set it to ‘high’. Check before you try, do a small test piece. Try changing out cardstocks or even foils, to see if that is the problem.
Today I have a beautiful card to kick off your inspiration, starting with…
#MYCARD
I think this foil was made for ME… in fact, I’m pretty sure of it, pink, orange, silver and SHINY, it’s perfect in every way 🥰. It’s called ‘Summer Sunset’ and is from Crafty Critta (scroll down for my discount code and link to their store).

I added a ‘classic’ black and white sentiment as I wanted to keep the card clean & simple (I know, you are shocked right?)

And a few sweet gems for some extra shine!

Are you ready to create some unique stamped and foiled cards? If you are inspired by today’s ideas I’d love you to share them on Social Media with me! Thank you for cruising on by today, sending crafty hugs your way!

Thank you Lisa, it was such fun x
Gorgeous card!!! The black & white sentiment really pops off the pageâ£ï¸
Thanks so much Sonja, I’m so happy you liked it!
AUSTRALIA. Great ideas Therese. I am very interested in foiling at the moment so this was perfect for me. Thank you.
Yay! Lorraine, I do hope you try this foiling technique, it’s truly fun!
One of my fave techniques to add foil shine. Love your tips and beautiful card.
Yay, I agree, it really stretches our products!
I’ve tried it with sketched looking stamps which are more forgiving. It works fine if you can handle some imperfections in the foiling. I agree that photographing foil is always the hardest part!
Yes, indeed, foil photographs should come with a caveat lol.
Have you tried clear foil? I’d like some ideas for the opal/ clear finish ones.
I have only tried the ‘holographic’ clear pattern foil… but can’t remember if I have made it into a card lol.
