#STENCILBACKGROUNDS

Not sure where to start? Then why not grab out a stencil, or if you are feeling daring… a layering stencil set. Before you know it you will have some happy crafty time and cards made in a flash!

Idea #1 – Multicoloured Images

So of course I started with a multi layered stencil, these do take longer to create with, but the depth and colours that you can add ALL in just one layer on a card is worth it (perfect for posting). You can simply add a sentiment to a background and call this done…

But I couldn’t leave it at that, Oh No, I had to go and add a sweet bowl. And initially I was adding the sentiment in strips but then I remembered the Nesting Hearts, and that made MY heart happy!

Having such a busy background meant that I didn’t need to add much to complete this card. So the sweet bowl sentiment was popped up in the centre of the design and I called it done!

Idea #2 – Repeat an Image

Create your very own stencil background by repeating an image. This image comes out of a large layering stencil set, but, I only used one portion of it. I simply repeated the same image using the same coloured inks to make this background.

And what next, it’s a light background and I thought it would be fun to ‘busy’ it up with a bold shiny die cut sentiment.

And what about a few leaves and flowers? All of a sudden this simple background is just that, it’s there but the sentiment and the bouquet are now the main feature that catches your eye first.
