I am sharing a few different ways to Colour Block but all of my cards ended up quite clean and simple, allowing the colours to be the main focus.

Using coloured cardstock is one of the easiest way to block colour and on this card I added a simple die cut frame from the Love to Travel die set and a sweet bird from Peaceful Time.

I decided to use the scrap cardstock to create some blocked panels next.

This time I embossed the flowers From the Garden and added sentiment from the Huggable Stamp Set.

Next I combined my colours by blending them into a panel of colour.

I stamped the Crimson Blush rose with a sentiment from a Million Thanks.

My final design was the easiest to do. I swiped the ink pad to create my Colour Blocking.

  1. Love these cards! I have soooo much cardstock that I could use to colour block, but just don’t think about this technique. Thanks for the reminder!

    • Hope you enjoy these techniques Vicki! Great to hear that things are finally starting to ease for you, it’s the weirdest thing (surreal really) we went out yesterday to see a band at a pub and it felt like ‘normal’, there were people everywhere…. I suppose it’s school holidays in both states and the day was beautiful… crossed fingers that is you guys soon too x

  2. I love the look of colour blocking, Therese … and with these techniques you’ve shared such great ideas for achieving clean, crisp looks! Oh, and adding some fun too with those punny sentiments! Hugs, Anita 🙂
