Have you ever coloured directly on Design Paper? It’s so easy and fun to do, today I share some tips as well as the cutest little ice cream holding kitty with you!
This card is part of my Colour with ‘U’ video series and if you haven’t caught this before check out more inspiration right HERE! I have chosen some cute plaid paper from the Honey Bee Autumn Afternoon Paper Pad.
And I used Prismacolor Pencils to colour this cute little kitty from Colorado Craft Company’s Ice Cream Day.
Then I popped up the panel on some Oyster Gray cardstock after adding a simple fun sentiment from the set. The best thing is that you could try this with any papers and stamps that you already have in your stash!

I love the new Anita Jeram stamps. Your kitty stamped on the patterned paper is wonderful. I just ordered the mouse with the ice cream cone and the mice with the packages.

You are BOLD– and it looks adorable! The tiny touches of darker shading really make a difference.
I would stamp the image on the patterned paper, but then stamp it on white paper, color it in, then fussy cut it out and glue it on the patterned paper, but who can cut around all those whiskers???

That is the other way I would have done it too, but today i felt like colouring on the design paper lol. Hope you have fun with this technique June!
I love it, Therese! Such a great idea to use Prisma Color pencils to give some coverage over the pattern. I especially liked how you started with the white pencil base over the grey!

You were braver than me to choose the plaid, but it turned out perfectly of course! These Anita Jeram images are so lovely. We have her book. The stamps bring back good memories of reading it.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen her book, but it seems quite Beatrix Potter like, such very beautiful images!
I enjoyed this video very much. Ab fab card. Reminds me a bit of your crad when you stamped Altenew’s Starry night X-mas tree on a stamped plaid. THough I am a fan of bold colours, I also like the soft colours like this. Thank you so much for caring.
