Altenew March 2023 Stampwheel Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)

Did you see the news! There’s a new kid on the block and we are having so much FUN!

If you are in the market for a new stamp positioning tool, the Altenew Stampwheel is definitely one to consider. There are many features that make this tool unique and versatile. I am enjoying playing with it, and have been learning more ways to use it every day!
Today’s technique is easy to do and perfect for this tool…

But first, this post is part of a Hop celebrating a new release from Altenew so you should have arrived here from JENNIFER’s amazing Blog.

Technique Idea – Create a Wreath!

A fabulous way to stretch florals and foliage stamps is to ‘Create a Wreath’. But this has been easier said than done. Ensuring the balance, the fit and the lack of ‘wonk’ can be a bit of a headache when planning it out. Enter, the Stampwheel!

Altenew - Stampwheel - Weekend Doodles - Linear Spiral - Fine Rings (card) (1)

This unique ‘flip plate’ that can also be turned in a circle takes the guess work out of the design. And, I literally stamped this floral sprig from Weekend Doodles into a quick wreath shape in a matter of minutes.

BONUS TIP: You can use smaller images to ‘fill the gaps’ in the wreath.

PRO TIP: With the unique photopolymer layer it was easy to hold my cardstock in place when I was colouring with the Artist Markers.

I cut the panel down to fit the front of the card after adding a few ink splatters.

Then popped up a simple embossed sentiment from the Linear Spiral Stamp Set.

  7. I love how you really covered the entire card front using the new Stampwheel! I agree the sticky base would help with coloring. Are you concerned about staining the mat?

    1. I know that it doesn’t make any difference to the mat if it is stained…. but in saying that, I would prefer a clean mat, so I’m thinking about buying a second mat for techniques, but first I will just see how it goes and does it really matter, probably not, as long as I am using the tool because that is what is for lol.

  8. I love what you created with the stamping wheel. I cannot wait to get my hands on one! It looks likes such a great tool to have.

  21. Thanks, Therese. Lovely card! Finding the stamps that go together and don’t overlap too much is the real time consuming step – which is why I probably haven’t tackled the technique before. The stamp wheel is going to be everyone’s “go to” tool because as demonstrated, it’s for stamping, coloring, stenciling on, etc.
