Do you like those ‘modern’ clean styled cards that are in the shops? Did you know that you can recreate them!

These Pandas from the Altenew Out & About Ensemble make me happy. I love that they are big enough to be the focal point of a card but you can also add a BUNCH of them (what is a group of Panda’s called?), like I did on this card HERE. I wanted to focus on recreating that ‘modern’ look today and I have a couple of tips to share with you.

This is part of my Take 2 Series with Altenew and I’m so excited to be back with another video today.

Card #1 – Unexpected Colours!

Have you ever stamped an image in a totally unexpected colour? How about a Pinkalicious Panda? I personally think she is divine and looks very modern! Though I did feel the need to add her eyes and nose, so I used a Fine Liner (but you could skip this step, she did look pretty without them too).

These Bamboo Branches are also coloured with some unique colour choices, but I think it works to add a modern feel and the dimension with the coordinating 3D Embossing Folder definitely takes it that step further.

I kept the sentiment simple and it’s from the Stunning Sakura Stamp Set, but I did toy with the idea of a foiled sentiment, how cool would that look.

PRO TIP: Clean and Simple designs with a lot of white space is perfect for a modern look card.

Card #2 – Time for a Party Hat

For this masculine card I decided to keep it simple but add a fun element and I chose to make a gold striped Party Hat using the Chevron Background Hot Foil Plate. I added some colour with the Hawaiian Shores pens because they are water based and can be used with Hot Foil.

BONUS IDEA: If you don’t want a party hat, why not add a balloon!

This time I used one of the sentiments from the Roaming Pandas Stamp Set.
