Do you like using solid stamps? There are so many fun techniques to use with a solid image and today I share one of my faves!

But first, did you know that this set is part of the new release at Ellen Hutson? And if you love Happy Mail, then this one is for you. My card today shares a great way to use solid images and create a beautiful Ombre look.

Card Idea – Ombre Stamping!

Solid stamp images can be a little intimidating. This sweet ‘heart’ from the Snail Mail Stamp Set was the perfect size to create a repeat pattern but also to take it to the next level with some ‘Ombre’ stamping.

This technique is easy to do, especially if you have a stamp positioning tool such as the MISTI. Choose the inks you would like to use. I used 3 different colours, Apricot, Do-Si-Do, and Party Dress.

PRO TIP: Make sure you choose colours that will blend well together.

Stamp the colours from lightest to darkest. Add ink to the portion of the stamp where you would like it. And leave the stamp in position on the lid of the tool and clean it between each colour. I also used a Mini Blending Tool to soften the sharp edges of the ink, so they blended a little better.
