My lovely friend Brandi Mahon shared a fantastic tutorial on how to make a Pleated Cascading Card, and I was instantly hooked! So, of course… I decided to try it for the very first time, LIVE. What could possibly go wrong? 😂

There’s just something magical about a card that does more than sit pretty. Fun folds add that unexpected twist… literally! Whether it flips, pops, slides, or cascades (like this one!), they bring a sense of wonder and joy to both the maker and the lucky person receiving it.

I love how interactive cards turn a simple sentiment into a whole experience—and this Pleated Cascade Card definitely delivers on that!

Here’s a closer look at my very first Pleated Cascade Card – live and unfiltered.

Is there dimension” Absolutely. Am I afraid of it? Absolutely not. 😉
And this card is be best hand delivered (with a smile!), or tucked safely in a padded envelope if it’s travelling.

I added multiple layers of design paper and decorated panels to each cascade, but you can absolutely change these up to suit your style.

PRO TIP: Avoid adding extra dimension to the inside panels as your card will not be able to close properly.

I found the perfect pre-made sentiment (from the same cardstock!) in my stash and decided to add it to the first inside panel instead of the front. The design already had plenty going on.

BONUS TIP: If you want to write your message on the layered panels (I get it… they are too pretty to touch), you can always write it on the back of one – or all – of them instead.
