#SIMPLEPOPUP

I used a new-to-me set of dies designed specifically to create pop-ups, and they’re perfect for a variety of image sizes and styles. And I couldn’t help but pop-up this beautiful magnolia, it would have to be one of my all time faves!

If you want to learn how, you can watch me use the same pop-up mechanism in my Live video here, where I popped up some Roller Skates. I also shared more details about the process in my earlier blog post, which you can find here.

Why Not Make Your Own?

But don’t worry if you don’t have these dies – in the video, I also show you how you can easily make your own pop-up mechanism. It’s simpler than you might think!

BONUS IDEA: These pop-up mechanisms can also be used in the centre of a card for a fun interactive surprise.

I hope this card inspires you to try out pop-up mechanisms in your own cards, whether with dies or a DIY approach! Don’t forget to share your work – you know that I always love to see what you create.

Happy Papercrafting!

  1. SO gorgeous! Therese, I used to make little paper ‘springs’ before foam dots/squares were introduced – you’ve brought that back en vogue today! And the Earth will favor it, too! [not that anyone would DARE to discard any one of your gorgeous makes – I am happy to have a wonderful collection, thank you!]

    1. Pre-foam dots… I’m in awe, I can’t remember that far back lol. I started making cards in 2005, I had done a lot of crafty stuff but not much paper craft. Except… my Mum did Paper Tole and used that horrid clear glue to elevate and add dimension (maybe that was pre foam dots too) 😂

  2. Well Therese
This is a lovely card and I love the pop up mechanism.
    Thanks for all the inspiration.
    Crafty hugs

  3. This pop up set takes care of all the guesswork, thank goodness. Two beautiful cards, the magnolia is so beautiful and the skates are so much fun.
